The exams were all based on the book, but we spent most of our class time talking about news articles he had us read. I do not feel like I learned much information from his lectures. It's an easy class to pass, but it felt like a waste of time. He uses cards w/ everyone's name on them to decide who has to talk next so always be prepared to talk.

Worst grad class experience in the whole program. Refuses to use Blackboard or GVSU email. Pulls cards w/ student names to force participation. Confusing lecture w/ notes all over the place. Impossible quizzes over 5-9 chapters in 1 week. Curves grades so heavily even if you fail you get a B-. You will pass but probably won't learn much.

Lets his classes decide when things are due and also lets the class decide when an amendment to a due date needs to be made. Unfortunately lecture is a part of the class you can't skip but he was entertaining enough to hold my attention through 3 weekends of classes. Fair grader with lots of feedback. Would definitely take him again!

Do NOT take this professor for this class. Majority of class is long-winded lectures. Notes are all over the place. Due dates change. Assignment descriptions are vague. Little to no class participation. Hard to get a hold of for extra help. Does not pick up on student frustration/confusion. Straight A student until I took this class.

He was my favorite professor all semester. He only assigned three quizzes all semester, including the Midterm and Final exams. There were only two big papers which were fairly easy, but time consuming. Regardless of what other students say, he is great to have as a professor, funny, and makes it worth your time to be in class.

WORST PROF I HAVE EVER HAD! He used the first 2 classes to have us write his syllabus for him! He didn't have any due dates planned in advance and then kept changing his mind when things were due. The class I had with him was online. He admitted to our class that he wasn't really checking our work because he didn't know how to use blackboard.

This professor has extremely high expectations, but does not provide you with feedback on your work to help you improve future papers. His grading policies are unclear and completely subjective. I was very disappointed in this class and the professor and unfortunately took very little learning away from all my hard work.

Prof. Abramson is long winded and boring. He didn't cover half of what the syllabus said. He asks questions and doesn't allow for different opinions. He assigns 3 easy papers and 2 "quizzes" which are impossible to pass but he curves grades considerably. Choose ANY other professor!

He doesn't actually connect the readings he gives us to the lecture. Overall, I felt the course was very unclear and disorganized and really discouraged me. I was left feeling the course had no clear point. He also wasn't always clear in his instructions, and trying to get an answer from him often resulted in what felt was talking in circles.

This class is eye opening and meant to help student development their educational philosophy. It can be hard to speak up in class because some topics are very controversial. However keep an open mind and look through a different 'lens' and you'll be find. He curves the test grades by ALOT! I think he is a good professor.

HATE! HATED this class, everything you give him an answer he would say you were wrong then tell you that he didn't know the real answer but you were still wrong. if you can take someone else. At times he would make it seem like every person is bad that there is no good people in this world. And being in his class I know why teachers messed up!

The topic is diverse, there are no right answers to the questions he asks, so I believe students who did not rate him highly were looking for something concrete from a subject that is anything but. The idea is to make you think and develop your own philosophy.

Nice man, knows his stuff, but is not meant to teach. It felt like I was back in jr.high or high school. Lots of lecture, which shouldn't happen in a grad class. Too much info, but it didn't matter since he curves the hell out of the three quizes he gives you (also not something that should be happening at grad level.)

His class was so frustrating, he makes class participation 20% but when you raise your hand to voice your opinion, he cuts you off, you are not allowed to have an opinion apparently. His papers were easy, but he marks you down for ridiculous things, and he doesnt tell you what he really wants in his paper. EXAMS ARE IMPOSSIBLE

Really frustrating class because what we talk about and what is in the book are two different things. Tests are so broad they don't make sense. Doesn't give study guides and what he does tell you about tests are too broad to study. Doesn't tell you your grade thoughout the semester or use blackboard. Take someone else

UNREAL! Your opinion does not count in this class. If you are one that likes to be heard, then find a different prof. Tests are un-passable. Larger projects are easy, but the class overall, with him, is a joke. Horrible professor. So single-minded it will drive you crazy.

Very BORING. Mostly he popped a video in & let it do the lecturing. When he did ask questions, what he really wanted was the exact wording he was looking for. Hard to stay focused because he didn't make material interesting. Only looked at book before the 2 exams, both times the questions were common sense or random guesses- nothing out of the book

Rambles on about nothing. His view is the only one that matters. If you don't agree with him you are wrong. He wants everyone to be ashamed of themselves if they are not living out of a dumpster. If you can take anyone else do it!

Comment:
The worst prof I have had here. The class was pointless and you don't learn anything that you didn't already know. Too many useless projects outside of class and if your group members suck then you get a bad grade. I highly recommend NOT taking him.
