I cannot stand lecture courses. However, Prof. Lombardo made this one tolerable. He is an excellent speaker. If you want an "A" in this class, focus on the exams. They're worth 75% of your final grade. The exams are not easy. They're all fill-in-the-blank and short answers. If you don't read the books, you will fail the exams. Good luck.

This guy is a genius, straight up. Learn to get on with him from the start, and you'll be fine. He expects good work from his honors classes, but less so from the non-honors. Take him if you're at all interested in latin or the classics.

A very interesting professor who knows something about everything. His lectures were, for the most part, very interesting and they are sometimes even humorous. As some have said before the tests are short and cover a wide range of material. But if you read what is assigned and have at least an average memory, they are fairly easy. Thumbs up!

A masterful processor - a standout at KU. He is an internationally recognized expert subject material expert and thus most of the texts are his own publications. He's a powerful orator, frequently humorous, and a while he can come off a little strong at times he is a really pleasant guy to speak with.

Lombardo is a genius in everything he does, and he can be intimidating at times, but once you know him a bit, he is very nice and genuinely cares. He knows more than I thought it possible for any man to know, and he is never boring. His grading is very fair, and he is always available to help. Keep up with class and reading, or he will get on you.

A bit confusing for an honors tutorial but overall a low stress, easy going honors tutorial. If you are fluent in a second language, this tutorial is for you. If you are not, you will feel confused a lot of the time. Sometimes, the homework assignments were unclear, but not difficult.

director of honors program, and rightly so. interesting, engaging in class (hardly ever boring) reading for class was not difficult, but should be done. only one assignment: a poem. should be a low-stress honors tutorial if you're considering, i'd recommend it.

His tests are ridiculous-very short-and we are expected to know entirely too much information! Basically if you aren't a genius in history, DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!The only thing that saved me was the ONE extra credit assignment he gave at the end of semester took my grade from a c to a b!

Lombardo is very hard to understand, and the tests suck really bad. Only 4 test with 30 ?'s each so like the guy before said if you mess up you mess up big. Take a diff. instructor if you can. Also the TA's are very boring, the only days we had more than half the class was on test days.

Did a fairly good job, the tests were relatively hard, only 3 tests worth 30, 30, and 40 percent of your grade. The TA's were very hard to understand.

Smart Guy. Lectures sometimes were VERY interesting and then sometimes VERY boring. Tests weren't too hard, but there aren't very many questions on them, so if you mess up, you can mess up big. A fair amount of reading.

Don't know what those guys were talking about who rated Lombardo so high... I took this as an elective blow off course and it ended up sucking. Boring as hell and to much material for an elective class. He knows what he is talking about but I would not reccomend taking him...
