He was one of the best teachers I've ever had during my two years at BCC. He made the class funny and interesting. One of those classes that you didn't want to skip or get cancelled. Too bad he retired though or else I would have recommended him to other people.

It was colleges Loss - for sure - that he has finally resigned his 20+ yr stint @ the college as a "temp" teacher... Unfortunately now, it will be the kids/students of the future who will miss out on his uniquely mind-broadening & well explained breakdown of the DSM disorders, etc.

For those who don't know, Prof Bowie was offered a retirement settlement at the end of the Spring, and he took it. I was signed up to take a class with him in the Fall but then was really bummed out when I found out the news. :( I've had some really good professors here at Broome, but Bowie most def takes the cake. You will be missed, my friend!!!

funny guy, gives out great, funny, and interesting stories while lecturing. no papers which is a relief. a few tests and a group project. if you need this class to graduate or interested in psychology then this is the right guy to get.

I got an 85 on my first test, which is lower than what I wanted to get, but that was from my lack of studying, not his teaching! I definitely recommend his classes, I know I want to take an upper level psych course with him! He deserves A LOT of credit for his teaching style. His lectures are so relevant! He REALLY knows what he's teaching.

Very easy class if you take notes and study. However, this class is useless when it comes to learning something. All stories that many ppl can't relate to the material. No hwrk or quizzes, so grade is all on test and project. It's an intro class that's required- a varied range of students which adds to the ridiculousness. I don't recommend Mr Bowie

He is a very nice guy, and maybe to some, very good, for myself it is difficult to stay on task with what he is teaching because he lacks good note taking(hardly any at all)and there isnt any hmwk or quizzes, it's a rather boring class unless you like to sit and hear him teach through "stories"
