Honestly one of the most passionate and inspiring profs I've ever had. Learned so much during lectures. A lot of people have a problem with how he lectures BUT they don't listen. They sit on their phones. Majority of test comes directly from his mouth. I don't understand kids today!!

Great passion, likes to go on rants against Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, etc. Not as impressed with the structure of the class, but maybe that's because I hardly ever did the readings.

Chuck! This guy seriously knows what he's talking about! Is he liberal? Yes very. Does he despise the republican party? Absolutely and he is clearly a Marxist, but his views are so on key for what's happening in our country and he really opened my eyes. I have to say one of the best teachers, if you keep an open mind, that's all her asks!

I was extremely moved by nearly everything he said. Being far left in my political views, we were on par with almost everything. If you are into social justice and overall moral correctness, take this course ASAP.

Doesn't use powerpoints but it didn't matter. Very good speaker. Passionate and animated- has a sense of humor, and interacts with the class. Might be hard to get a hold of @ times- but that's just how he rolls. Go into his office hours and he will talk to you for as long as you want. He's BRILLIANT. Best SOC prof I've had so far (I've had 3)

Everyone has a very different opinion of this guy, mine is not the best. I don't mind personally that he's super liberal, but i am concerned about his extreme bias. I've looked up things he's said in class and they're wrong. He doesn't teach, only talks. If you like to listen to him - you're fine.

Chuck is a MUST TAKE if you are going to major in sociology. If you are a capitalist, right wing conservative business major, you will absolutely hate him because he IS and states it clearly "A MARXIST." You business majors might not even know who that is anyway. But CHUCK ROCKS!

Chuck is the man. He wants his students to succeed and to actually think about why they are in the university. He was always encouraging personal reflection. He is very wise and helpful - take advantage of his office hours, because he's an awesome man and gives great advice. Take a class from him before he retires in the next couple years!

Hunt is by far the best professor I have ever had. My only complaint about him is that he doesn't teach more upper lever courses. He is very liberal and does have a tendency to ramble but it is applicable to the material and I learned so much just from listening to him talk.

I had Chuck two times. Once for Soc201 and once for Sociology of Women. I am a moderate/conservative but Chuck always listened respectfully to my opinions and gave me excellent reviews on my work. I learned so much from Chuck! He is a wonderful example of how to be open-minded and respect the opinions of others even when we don't agree.

Worst professor of my whole college experience. I consider myself liberal, but I still couldn't stand him. Rude to any students requesting information about basic course guidelines. Class was interesting, but that was because the topic was very interesting. He added some interesting points, but not worth my time. WOULD NOT SUGGEST THIS PROFESSOR!

Chuck is by far the best professor I've had here. He is extremely intelligent and honest about what he teaches. He is not afraid to speak the truth. This school and this nation are in desperate need of more people like him. Chuck has made me a more socially aware and educated person and I will always be thankful for that.

Charles Hunt is an extraordinary professor with progessive thoughts. If a student leaves the UO without taking a class from him then they've WASTED their time. Chuck is an outstanding individual and an intense professor. He brings life and truth to the UO campus. Unlike many professors, Chuck knows what he is talking about.

Chuck really does know his stuff. He may be opinionated, but he backs it up with real evidence and factual based information that you can find elsewhere if you look. The difference between Chuck and other professors I've had is he really does teach so you learn something, not to produce a grade.

Chuck is extremely opinionated and stubborn so don't try and argue with him or you'll be shut down.Luckily his opinions are interesting and I loved his lectures. The material isn't hard he just has tricky test questions so it helps to look over older tests to learn his style of testing. Overall strong professor.

Joke of a professor. Argues with students who oppose his views and thinks everything he says is a fact and talks as if he hates America. If he is as smart as he says he is he should be president of the US. Once offended a student and continued to as the student tried to exit the classroom in disgust, which made for an awkward classroom environment.
