Lectures can be dry at times, but for the most part it was an interesting class. He's retiring, so not much advice I can give, other than I hope whoever replaces him is as good at teaching as he is.

He seems nice and helpful in class and his office hours; however, come exam day, he adds concepts and information that have never been referenced in lecture. You must buy the book because although he seldom refers to it, he sometimes adds topics only discussed in the text. He doesn't prepare his students well for exams.

Professor Dunleavy is a really down to earth, approachable guy. He will happily answer any questions you have. The class was kind of difficult in my opinion but Dunleavy made sure to explain things thoroughly. All you have to do is take good notes to study from and pay attention to his lectures and you will be fine.

Dr. Dunleavy is an excellent professor. I highly recommend him. His lectures drag a bit but what goes on the board is on the exam, verbatim. A great public speaker and a professor who cares that his students learn. 1010

Dunleavy is amazing! Best ECO252 professor you can take. He's a little boring, but really funny when you actually listen to him. He's retiring next year so take him while you can!! Exams are super easy (formula sheet) and he is very clear in what he expects from you. There are four exams and one project. All very easy if you show up to class.

The class could get boring at times but if you takes the notes he writes on the board they are basically test. Just study that and you're guaranteed a B. No homework. Final grade is basically the average of 4 tests

Sweetest teacher I have ever had but his class is so boring it is hard to stay awake. He takes forever to teach a chapter and the only grades are 4 tests. If you understand macro really well then I would say take him but other then that I would try to avoid this class.

Older guy, but does he know his stuff or what! He's a walking Macroeconomics textbook. Almost crystal clear directions, no homework, notes are literally the tests in a nutshell (so go to class every day), never uses textbook for tests. Kinda boring and never calls on students for questions. Overall, great professor that you can learn a lot from!

He's a really sweet old man, however he teaches the class s dry that it's hard to follow and pay attention. Because of this, the tests are hard.

Very good professor. Has been in the field for a very long time and knows what he is talking about. Classes are purely lecture style with note taking, with very little student feedback called upon. Doesn't give tests back until a month after they are taken. Tests are challenging and often ask questions about material covered long ago. Overall: good

Dunleavy is a good teacher, if you're interested in economics. Try and get the backtests if you can in any way possible, they are almost identical to the new tests! He is a good teacher, and curves A LOT. Definitely take him
