Comment:
Rev is a great professor and adviser. He is a difficult professor, there is no denying that, but I find his expectations to be very reasonable. He cares about students not just as students, but as people. He is very inspiring and I don't find him to be as disagreeable as people say. You will have to read everything.

It probably gave him a sad face for my review, but that's not right. He's not easy and he's not very good at getting things to you on time, but he is a fantastic professor. Makes you challenge your preconceptions and very interesting. You have to be willing to talk though, or you will not do well. Also perpetually late to class. Great professor.

He is the best teacher hands down at Ursinus. This is in regards to not only what you get out of his classes, but what you recieve and can get out of him as a mentor and friend. He knows how to drop the boundary between teacher and student and communicate to understand a person. Rev is a complete intellectual, critically analyzing individual.

Rev. Rice is one of my favorite professors at UC. The class is really interesting with the Reverend as a teacher. Don't expect an easy A, though. You have to participate in class or you will fail, especially in CIE. He can be a little bit of a hard grader, but it is worth having him for CIE.

Rev is by far my favorite teacher at Ursinus. He really makes you think about everything - do not take his class if you're looking for a blow-off easy A class. You will be boiled alive.

Rev. Rice is by far the most influencial teacher I have ever had. His classes are the most rewarding(and I'm a science major) if you are willing to stand for what you believe. Those that claim he is arrogant are those that are unwilling to challenge themselves. Rev helps prepare you to change the world, not to join it.

He is stuck in his ways, but while he is direct when expressing his views, his ultimate goal is to challege the students not only academically but personally.

Great professor. Very insightful. Love the class but I'm not much of a talker during discussions so it hurt my grade.

if you don't agree with him you won't do well. likes for people to challenge him, but only so they can admit to the class they were wrong and he was right. very slow at returning papers. cool guy, but bad prof. if you aren't willing to yell and holler, don't talk.

Rev Rice is the most ****, uber-right-wing-neo-con I've ever met. Worse than Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, John Ashcroft, and Rush Limbaugh combined

Through force of arguement Socrates manages to get Meno to reject reason itself rather than undermine his most cherished views. I imagine most of those people giving Rev. Rice negative reviews found themselves in a situation like Meno's and also took the path of least resistance, rejection of reason

Reverend Rice is the best professor I have encountered at Ursinus College. Contrary to other opinions, he is an intelligent man who manages to challenge you at just about every turn. Perhaps a bit gruff, but a great man.
