People who reviewed her said "go to class and you will pass". That is absolutely false, because I went to every class and tried to listen and take notes from her boring lectures. If you do not sit in the front she will not give you help whatsoever. Her study guides are pointless as they are all youtube links that do not even work. DO NOT TAKE HER

Professor Copeland is amazing! She really helps and loves what she is talking about. 2 tests, midterm and final, 2 papers (1 of which is one page) and a group project. The tests are straight from the study guide. People who rated her horribly obviously didn't show up to class because its nearly impossible not to get an A. Shes grades way too easy!

Absolutely phenomenal teacher. Recommend her for teacher of the year. So interesting and extremely knowledgable and passionate about the subject. Her test are straight from the study guide if you bother to complete them. Go to class and you will learn a great deal from her and get good grades on her tests.

Hands down one of my favorite professor at ODU. She is incredibly sweet and her class is intimidating and there is a great deal of material. If you plan to skip every class and not do work then expect to fail. She appreciates and helps students she sees putting in effort. Easy grader, no homework other than two short papers and a group project.

Awesome teacher. She is willing to help and even gives out her home number if you have a problem. Go to class, take LOTS of notes, and you will do great. Her tests are essay/short answer style & come DIRECTLY from her in class notes. The more you explain on your tests the more points she awards. Group project sucks though.

First semester at ODU and this is the first class I've failed there smh. Professor Copeland is very sweet, her teaching is just not the best at all!! She is very hard to understand and is very unclear on what to study. She gives 10 page study guide to complete but nothing on the guide is on the exams :( Avoid taking her if possible!!! GOOD LUCK!!

I took her based on the reviews but was I wrong! Worst class ever! I still don't know what we were trying to learn; she is all over the place, very unclear. Beware of tests, she comes up with her own questions, random, short answer. Little homework but hard to follow her lecture therefore hard to study for exams. AVOID!!! Save your GPA if you care.

Professor Copeland is a great professor. She knows her subject well and she does has some expectations from her students- not too overwhelming, but if you in the college, you should know that you have to be prepared for the tests, right?.. Read the book, be present in class, listen to what professor talks about- and you will do great.

Very passionate about her lectures, and goes off topic a lot. Overall a good instructor. Participation goes a long way. Not only is it part of your grade, but I think she grades generously on the exams if you area student who stays involves during class. Short answer exams, even if you don't know the answer, just try and you'll get partial credit

One of the worst classes I have ever taken. She goes off topic and starts rambling about random information all the time so it is hard to understand what she even wants us to know. She doesnt make the participation clear and the tests are short answer.

Her tests are not crazy hard. Make cue cards with definitions off the study guide and youre golden. Attend class and take notes on concepts. Is fair when it comes to grading. Offers lots of extra credit. Holds study sessions to ask questions. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Learned a lot and enjoyed her class. I recommend.

She is a nice lady but her midterm and final are crazy hard. her study guides after you filling them out are around thirteen pages and you have to answer short answer for all her test which is around 50 questions. wont get a bad grade if you work hard but a lot of studying is needed

She is an amazing teacher. Really sweet lady. Goes into depth with subject and really knows what she is talking about. Take good notes and study what she hands out on the study guide and you will be fine. No need for the book so save your money. Definiely recommend.

She is a wonderful professor, I am so glad that I took her for my Database class! You just have to do the work, and you will be happy towards the end of the class! She gives you feedback on what you need or needed to do and is willing to go above and beyond to answer students' questions!

First class in Database Concepts and Copeland does an excellent job covering the material. She clearly defines what she wants and is more than willing to help anyone. 3 Tests, Blog, and Final Project. Every test she holds an online study session. I would take her again for another class. Excellent! Gets the required material across with lecture. LISTEN, pay attention in class and take notes;you'll do well.She's very kind, caring, and answers questions very well.Was a bit shaky about the essay questions, but just write as much as you can recall from lecture/notes and you'll be fine. Wonderful professor! Highly recommended!!
