Comment:
Dr. Carl is an excellent person and really knows her Latin, but you have to be pretty self-motivated to actually learn very much! But the class experience was actually pretty enjoyable!

I think she's a really good professor. She definitely knows the subject very well. However, she was always late to class. From the beginning of the semester until the end, she would be at least 10 to 30 minutes late to class. The sad thing is, it's only a 50 minute class. Other than her punctuality problem, I enjoyed the class and her teaching

I had Carl for French II. She is a sweet and lovely person, but she's not a good teacher. She canceled class way too much (French is something you should practice as much as possible-class shouldn't be canceled!) and was really late in grading assignments. We barely practiced speaking french, and got off on tangents about random cultural topics.

Professor Carl is a very sweet woman. She cares a lot about how you do and does what she can to help, but she isn't very committed to being in class. I took her 9 a.m. class and she was late every day but two days. By late, I mean at least 10 minutes. It was a little frustrating at times.

I took Latin III with her and I loved the class...she's very laid-back and fun- one of my favorite teachers at Southwestern. Latin III isn't as intense as Latin II or IV, so it was a nice relaxing semester... She's a great prof- I'd definately recommed her.

she's lovely, very fun, very cute. didn't learn much but always enjoyed going to class. easy if you do your homework but not actually ever required. if you don't want to work and don't want to be excessively stressed during your year take a class of hers. you'll have fun. (try to avoid if you're serious about languages though)

We basically talked about random crap all day instead of actually learning Latin. She flaked with the online assignments, and when we didn't do them she gave us all bad grades. She does not prepare you at all for Latin IV and if you take dr. Hal Haskell for Latin IV, he will expect you to know all of the information that she didn't teach you.
