Honestly, I wish this guy was my grandpa. He's really a sweetheart. However, he is not a great first year teacher. He switches from topic to topic/problem to problem, making him extremely hard to follow. I was good at high school chemistry and did awful. If you came in with a high AP score, then you will be fine. Be prepared for quizzes (curved)!!!

Snipp could not be more of an entertaining person. His lectures are not that helpful but are hilarious. He uses weekly 100 pt quizes for grades but these are usually curved. His reviews are perfect indicators to the tests. You must read the chapters and do the reviews but doing these two will get you nothing less than a B. One of my favorite profs!

He doesn't teach that well; you're better off learning the material on your own. Go to class because he teaches you ways to tackle problems that will be on his test for that chapter. Just review his practice problems and don't slack off.

Go to class. You don't learn THAT much, and his notes are pretty sporadic. But he notices when you're not in class. His review tests are SIMILAR to the actual tests, he sometimes tries to trick you with changing up the wording. he's a really nice guy, is willing to help as long as you go in an talk to him. NO HOMEWORK. WEEKLY QUIZZES.

Took AP Chemistry and I'm getting a B right now. It's self-learning for the most part and I honestly would recommend taking someone else if you want an easy A. Tests are multiple choice, but can be very tricky.

Snipp is something else. I love the guy! he's got a really good sense of humor and if you understand chemistry pretty well you will do alright in his class. just do the practice tests and you'll be fine

Dr. Snipp is amazing! I absolutely love his sense of humor! It was really hard at first but once you adjust to taking a test every week it becomes easier. Take him :)

Not the best professor. Especially for a beginner's class. I dropped it. He's a nice guy, but he doesn't know how to teach.

Chemistry is hard in general, but Dr. Snipp is always willing to help outside of class. He is really funny and has a lot of good stories to tell. Just do the work, take notes, and ask for help and you will be fine. ALSO! TAKE EARLY CLASSES with him because he goes off topic less in the mornings!

I would avoid this professor if possible. He is not very clear in lectures so if you do not have a strong background in chemistry the class will be very difficult. You basically read the book and teach yourself. He gives practice tests, but the real tests are harder. He does grade on a curve, but in my section it didn't help that much.

Practice Tests are exact to the exam. Grades on a curve so you can get an 80 in the class and still receive an A.

I loved Dr. Snipp! His class was the perfect way of waking me up in the morning because he is always entertaining. As far as work, he tells you everything you need to know the first two days after a test and spends the other days reviewing that material. Offers practice tests and grades on a curve. What more could you need?

great teacher. kind of hard to follow, and goes off on tangents all of the time. but he grades on a curve, so you dont have to do that great on the tests... you just have to do better than the other people in your class. he's very funny, and if you get on his good side, this class isn't that hard. it's a lot of work and studying, but its doable

Snipp is not the clearest professor, and it gets worse as the day goes on. Take the earlier section if possible. He goes very fast. He doesn't really help one on one. He does give practice tests and he curves. If you put forth a lot of effort you can get an A. If you have to choose between Snipp and Freitag take Snipp, otherwise take someone else.

Everyone should take Snipp. He has made Gen Chem so much clearer. He tells you everything you need to know for his tests several times, has practice exams identical to the actual tests, and is always entertaining. However, if you're fundamentalist, I would stay away because he is frequent with the religious jokes.

Take his class if you're into beards and lectures of nonsense. It's hard to learn the material from what he says because he can't communicate the concepts effectively.

If you have any issue with Chemistry, or have no background... this class is HARD. He isnt the clearest in lectures, but go in for help and he tries to explain things clearer. His tests are pretty hard and all multiple choice, study his practice tests and the chapters. He curves the grades. Just study A TON, and see how you do. Labs are VERY EASY!

Some do well in his class and some don't. I found it difficult to understand what he was talking about when explaining things. It seemed like sometimes he would forget to finish explanations. Your grade is made up of a few tests and a final so it's hard if you don't do well on his tests.

Dr. Snipp has been at Creighton forever and he has lots of random/really funny stories. The tests are pretty easy if you study, and his lectures are not hard to follow once you get used to his teaching style. He wants his students to succeed, and gives you all the tools to do so.
