He is extremely dedicated to his job, not afraid to trash talk about your paper, and should at least have his own cult following. Personally speaking, I highly recommend taking this class because it will forever change the way you watch film/movies. It gave me a whole new perspective on thinking analytically and historically about film and media.

Great guy, awful teacher. Dr. B. is funny, nice, and gives it to ya straight. If you're not willing to work really hard for your grade, then do yourself a massive favor and don't take any of his classes. He really knows his stuff and if you ask nicely, he will make a point to help you out.

I took him for Evolution of Western Civilization over the winter (online course). It was 10 essays, one on each chapter. So easy, I got credit for a course and did it in 10 days, AMAZING. He gave us the prompts right after finals in the fall so we had Christmas break to get a head start. Take him for history in the winter if you can. So easy.

not a fan of this guy at all. talks the whole entire time and if you don't write everything he says you're pretty much screwed. tests are hard and 1 paper that is 50% of your grade. should've dropped on the first day. do yourself a favor don't take him

I have Dr. B for Western Civ. and he's great. You really just have to stay on your A game. Don't fall asleep in class or be lazy, because if you're a poor student, the whole class will definitely be made aware. You have to pay attention in order to take good notes, he only writes terms on the board. Tests are few, but material heavy. Nice funny guy

He is one of the best history professors I've ever had. He let's you choose between two papers (one 3 page and one 8 page) instead of a midterm and final. Gives only 4 other essay style tests that if you paid attention in class you will pass even if you didn't study. Lectures from his own cheap book he sells in class. Love him!

Dr. B is hilarious, if you have a crude sense of humor. Though he did constantly talk about his wife and his Porsche, i really didnt mind. Dr. B knows his stuff, and isnt afraid to completely call you out for getting a bad grade or trying to B.S. Gives one map quiz and an 8 page research essay if i'm remembering correctly.

He is a great professor!!! Take him! If you show effort he will appreciate you. He is extremely smart and knows it, and he can be arrogant. But he is my favorite professor at Iona. He makes you work but it's worth it. He is extremely funny and loves history! I recommend him for everyone, he makes history interesting and that is hard to do.

He is very knowledgeable but does not know how to teach. He will lecture the entire class so you better know how to take good notes. He grades the papers you write extremely tough. He will ridicule you in front of the class if you make a mistake. I have taken 18 classes, 17 A's and he is my 1 C. :( Stay away if you can.

Dr. B was an OKAY professor definitely knows his stuff, just not so good at helping students to understand it. Really degrading and loves to call students out for anything (i.e. bad grades, not knowing the answer). constantly boasting about how rich he is and drives a porsche... wouldn't recommend.

Amazing teacher but not easy. He gives out his version of the txtbk($10)that explains his lectures, you could do outside research to get clarity though. I dropped because I failed 2/5(F&D-)then didn't study for the midterm If you study and are a good test taker go for it but if your like me who does the minimum DON'T you'll save yourself a headache

I LOVED Dr. B he makes it seem like the class is harder then it is. He is always willing to help and he made me die of laughter at 8 am. I recommended taking him he really had a positive impact on my college experience

The man is absolutely hysterical! Its really easy to pay attention to his lectures cause he makes jokes the entire time. But his class is definitely not easy! He's a pretty tough grader and the ID quiz he gave us was really hard. He also gives 2 maps quizzes which are an easy A as long as you study
