Phame is what academia was intended to be! Super kind and encouraging. Wants you to challenge your personal biases. Great listener, especially when it comes to topics outside the course. He genuinely wants to know you. Always willing to have coffee :) We will miss you!

Phame is an angel. He is retiring at the end of the semester and I wish I could have spent more time with him. He encourages growth and mistakes in a way most in academia would never. Easy to confide in, always up for coffee. Embodies what education should be. You will be missed.

Love everything about Phame. The class is reading, essay, and lecture heavy, but not too much, just what you'd expect for an Honors course. Phame is an entertaining professor and great for class participation.

Comment:
Phame's HON100 is more of an experience than a class. It's essentially what you make of it - if you think it's just dumb, you won't get anything out of it. The papers aren't the most exciting things, and feedback is nonexistent if you don't opt for the No Grade Plan. It could be much worse for an Honors requirement.

Phame is a pretty cool guy and a slightly above average professor. Generally, in HON100, I felt that his lectures did not directly tie into the assignments he gave us, but nonetheless the class was easy and the activities were interesting.

Phame spends the entire class lecturing on the pillars of Honors. He is very interesting and inspirational at points, though I did not always buy into what he says. While his ideas and curriculum are important, never forget to think for yourself during the course. Be a critical thinker and HON 100 will go smoothly.

Comment:
Lectures are often a bit abstract and he makes you think, challenges you to rethink all of your beliefs and expand your ideas and morals. Most of the grading in the class is done by grading assistants.

Phame is a good guy. He genuinely cares about all of his students. The class consisted of mostly lecture which sometimes got boring. Bi-weekly essays got old pretty fast, especially when it was impossible to earn 100% and they did not tell you why you missed the points you did. The PDP was the most fun part of the class.

Comment:
Phame is a very caring professor and surprisingly easy to access despite being in such a large lecture. The class is very project- and writing-heavy and it is sometimes overwhelmingly boring and pretentious. But it is required for the scholarship so try to make the most of it.

Comment:
Phame is nice, but Honors 100 seems like a waste of time. It's not a very impactful class if you had open-minded high school teachers who encouraged critical thought. I found myself bored by the lectures, although the PDP was pretty cool because it pushed me to do things I might not have done otherwise. The bi-weekly essays were a nuisance, though.

Comment:
Phame is really the leader of the Honors Cult at Central. Most students worship the ground he walks on simply because he lectures about thinking, which apparently most of them don't do. Most people who have had some form of critical thinking class will find the HON 100 class utterly worthless. Papers in this class have abysmal feedback.

Phame is one of the most caring and humble people I've ever met. Very down to earth. For one of your PDPs, I'd highly recommend doing a coffee chat with him. The lectures can be long, but he will really make you think. I wasn't a huge fan of the essays, but as long you fully answer the prompts, you will be fine.

Phame is one of the most humble and idealistic person I have ever met. He wants everyone to succeed in life, and as the honors director, he sees this commonly. He's very interesting to talk 1:1 with, and will help guide you in anyway possible. The essays are kind of random and irrelevant, but they make you think about various things.

Phame makes HON100 a lot of fun with interesting discussion topics and projects. I wasn't the biggest fan of the essays because I felt not all were super relevant, but Phame's lectures always made me reflect back on myself even if I didn't agree with his ideas. If you go into this class with an open mind, you can really learn a lot.

Phame is an awesome person if you take the time to get to know him outside of class (I totally recommend meeting with him for the PDP!) Phame is so caring and loves what he does, but the 7-9 lecture can get boring at times. There are only a few essays for a grade in the class, but if you do your best and FULLY answer the prompt you will be fine.

Low key really tries to get students to conform to "ideal Honors students". His lectures have nothing to do with the essays assigned. He's a cool guy overall, just wants you to overthink things. I recommend having a coffee chat with him for the PDP.

Seriously Don't understand why people love him. He thinks he's a visionary when really he's just a good speaker. His ideas aren't revolutionary. Not a necessary class if you know how to think already. Some classes were interesting but overall totally pointless. A frustrating waste of money
