Comment:
Professor hood is very caring, but very old school. His class is basically teach it yourself, but he is there to answer questions. Each class you have a 2 point project, where the answer is found in the book. You MUST show up. Thankfully all 3 exams are open note, thus if you do the in class projects right and organize, you'll have an easy A.

Professor Hood could care less about his students. Especially when life happens. William Hood thinks that his class is the only thing that is happening in your life. Do not go to the hospital or a funeral because he will not dismiss it. Attend every class or he will hate you and think you are a lazy college student. Hood is not a good professor.

Pretty good professor, class starts easy and gets a little hard by the end of the semester. You don't really need the course pack. Just make sure someone in your group has it because you need to do classwork on the paper in the pack.

This class is fairly easy to get an A. He posts the in class "projects" before the exams... use these for the open book exams and you'll do fine. His lectures may be boring, but it's important not to miss more than five days or he won't pass you. Don't stress about this class with Hood, the class is pretty straight forward.

Make friends with who you sit by on the first day of class; they'll be your partner for the daily homework projects that Hood assigns. Other than 2 point daily projects (these count as attendance points too) there is no homework at all. Professor Hood's lectures are straightforward and he tells you everything you need to know. Exams aren't too bad.

Comment:
Prof. Hood was decent , his lectures are pretty straight forward and the material is basic but he's very unorganized so that can make it difficult to understand. There's no mandatory homework, but each class has a 2pt assignment due at the end after his lecture so you can only miss so many. Whoever you sit by is your partner(s): beware.

You have to be at every class for his stupid daily class assignments. Also a real stickler about being on time to class despite him being about 3 minutes late to every class. His tests are really tough, but they are open book. Show up everyday and you'll do fine.

Dr. Hood is a great professor who does a really good job at discussing exactly what is going to be on the test. That is not to say the tests are easy, but if you go to every class and TAKE GOOD NOTES you will be fine. His lectures are extremely helpful in understanding the material . I really enjoyed his class and learned a ton.

His lectures only covered a few topics from every chapter that were important for us to know and he went over each lecture point a couple of times to make sure we understand. Got to the point on what we need to know, going over class projects before exams help quite a bit so keep the carbon copies handy!!

Go to EVERY class ON TIME. So many points associated with attendance and in class projects. He posts the answers to the in-class projects on BB. Study these and the recommended (not required) hw problems in the book for an easy A. No need to read. EXAMS ARE OPEN BOOK OPEN NOTE, 20 questions, 50 minutes. Easy! If you don't get an A switch your major

Worst Professor. The semester i took this class i had kidney problems and was in the hospital for 2 weeks. I emailed him, saying that i kept up on all the reading and the work we had to do. He refused to accept this and told me he was going to fail me. needless to say, i had to dropp the class. a real jerkwho doesn't care about his students at all.

He is a sweet old man. He had a very clear plan for our class in the Summer. If you are struggling just ask for his help and be prepared to put some effort into the class.

Enjoyed the way he taught the course. Hood has clear expectations and is very knowledgeable in the subject of tax. Good structure for learning. I didn't find him hard to talk to and he is willing to help. I will take him for the next tax course.

I took this class online and while I did earn an A- in the class, it had nothing to do with the quality of instruction. I requested feedback on several assignments as to what I did wrong and he simply told me that I needed to pay more attention to my homework assignments and do it regularly (as if I wasn't doing that).Thk GOD for a tutor!

Absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to talk to...Lectures kids about listening and attendance for 20 minutes and wastes half the class. Can't have a conversation with him, treats students like they have been in accounting for years OR treats you like a 2 year old. Don't take this prof. Trust me

He was average. His notes are somewhat helpful. His exams are difficult, even when being able to use notes and book. Many group projects worth 2 pts each, helped with bad exams. Didn't collect homework. Just so-so.
