the bad reviews of this class are hilarious. when i took this course, i got 100% on nearly all my tests, because they are JUST LIKE the practice tests. go to section, go to review sessions, and learn how to do all the questions on the practice tests and you'll be fine. also if you go to section they'll show you how to do the hw problems. easy A

His class was difficult and lectures were hard to follow. Everything I learned in the class I either learned from reading the book or discussion session. I understand that not taking chem 1A is not an option for a lot of majors but if you can take it from someone else. If there isnt another professor, GO TO DISCUSSIONS! dont rely on going lectures!

It's not impossible to pass this class, but if you don't have prior experience in an AP chem class, don't take his. Either take chem 1P first, or try to get a different 1A teacher. Also, discussion sections help a LOT more than his lectures do.

His class is horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He puts all of his lectures online, he doesn't explain what he does, therefore, I missed 1 month of lectures. All of his tests are bs - you can find the answers from pevious exams... again they're online. I still got an A in his class, and don't understand one bit of Chem thanks to Schlieck,

Schliech is by far the worst teacher you will ever come across. Switch out if you can; if you can't then i suggest going to Benjamin's lectures (he will actually explain chemistry to you), read the book, and go to sections. Most importantly, study from the old exams:the questions are exactly the same on the exams.

This man was horrible. I went to lectures twice and found them dull and like a drone. Mostly he talks about himself and if he isn't talking about himself he is going over his "slides" so quickly you can't write a thing down or start comprehending. I recommend you study from the book, and go to sections if you wan to pass.

don't learn anything in class. only in sections (mandatory). studied night before tests for like 5-9 hours using old exams. got 92% on both midterms but i understand chemistry. completely self-taught. don't take him if you don't understand chem. HARD FINAL!!!!!

DON'T DO IT! I did very well at Chemistry in high school and I thought I could handle a boring, confusing teacher. BIG mistake. Even after I started going to MSI (very, very helpful) the tests were still confusing and I failed miserablely, screwing up my entire GPA. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Schliech has a profound love for chemistry, however, his forte is not being a lecturer. His lectures are based off the textbook, with a few examples of his own. Unfortunately, his teaching methods make you more confused than you were before you went to lecture. It is better to just study by yourself or in groups and attend the discussion classes.

Schleich is the worst teacher I have had in my schooling experience thus far. His lectures are completely useless and likely to make you more confused. His voice is ridiculously monotone and when asks questions he will simply say the same thing over. This class is ridiculous. switch while you still can

Powerpoints made by taking diagrams and text straight from the book with little additional explanation. Liked to talk about his wife and dogs. I only went to class for the midterms and final. Stayed home and taught myself the materail. Practice tests very similar to actua test. Grading was more than fair.

THE HARDEST CLASS I'VE EVER HAD! He goes off topic talking about his wife and vacation while teaching, and his teaching methods are too confusing. His lectures are so boring and on top of that he has a monotone voice. If you sign up for this class, you're basically signing up to fail and ruining your GPA. But if you like a challenge i recommend him

Do not go to class, it is a big waste of time and energy. Just start a study group and learn the materials on your own. The lectures are all online and if you have questions, ask your TAs I

I had difficulty with the class, but he was very helpful at his office hours, going over material from the book and lectures that I found confusing. I also found that, doing homework problems and getting lots of practice helped too. Took a lot of effort, but it was rewarded. In the end, I got an A.
