Comment:
Professor Olsen for Chem I Lab has been awesome so far. He was more helpful than my Chem2110 teacher and he always gave really good feedback. He was easy to reach and willing to help as long as you asked. Workload was just right. Overall, great lab teacher. If you skip a lab, you are definitely going to have issues, but that applies to most labs.

Comment:
Hated this class. Bob made it unnecessarily hard, grades very slowly. Very disorganized. I understand it's COVID season but unreasonable and not understanding. Some people in my class cheated but those who didn't, get faulted for it too, which sucked. If you want to work very hard and not get a grade you deserve, welcome to this class.

Comment:
Seriously the worst class of my semester and not because it was hard, but Bob made it exceptionally tedious and work-heavy for Chem 3. I consider myself a very hardworking student and I'm someone who would willingly do extra credit for good grades but this was terrible. Smartwork assignments issues on Sunday nights, quizzes every week. no respect

Professor Olsen is a really nice and helpful professor! Chemistry is a tough subject and he worked hard to make sure his students understood. Chemistry is a tough subject, but he was always available during class, office hours or through email. Not always super concise, but was always willing to help students who asked.

I don't understand people saying the tests were hard or unpredictable because for our class at least he posted practice exams that were exactly like the real exams. Honestly the only people I know who didn't like him are those who were too lazy to ever show up to class. If you actually do the work, you'll breeze through this.

He did an okay but not outstanding job teaching. Lectures could be dry and one test was just too hard for the whole class (he wound up curving that one a great deal). Otherwise despite the high amount of work it all made sense quickly and I learned the material.

He is willing to answer your questions and emails back pretty quickly. However, the amount of work I do in this class is equivalent to taking 3 classes so be prepared to spend a lot of time reading and understanding the material. Does not lecture very well, have to teach myself the material.

Very nice and helpful guy. Talks a lot before the start of lab but explains every single formula that needs to be used and in what order. Always there to help and explain something whether during class or in office hours. A bit slow with getting grades back but no lab quizzes, and sometimes a pre lab

By any means, do not take this guy. A month into the semester and we still did not have the grade for our FIRST lab report. Instead of doing practice problems involving specific equations, he spends thirty minutes lecturing about nonsense rather than showing how to do the problem. Very nice and knows chemistry but just terrible. Save yourself .

Gives irrelevant lectures unrelated to the class objectives in chem lab. Feedback is extremely delayed so you don't have a chance to correct your mistakes. Is often confused when giving instruction, does not have adequate teaching skills. He is nice but needs to change his style

He takes points off your lab report for the slightest details since he is trying to prepare you to write a scientific journal. He usually takes 10 minutes to answer a question for you, then 20 minutes going off another topic once a correlation has been established. He's sometimes late for his office hours, and it's at night. He's nice, but hard.

THEE WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE.. His epidemics class is EXTREMELY easy, but it's incredibly boring.. Honestly i learned not one thing and it's felt like a waste of time.. but he is funny to laugh at occasionally, only because he makes jokes that nobody laughs at

Prof Olsen is honestly such a nice, sweet guy. The problem though is that he can be hard to follow/understand what exactly he wants for projects and papers. There are three tests and I never had any idea what was going to be on them. Overall I would AVOID his class if you can.

Olsen is a sweet guy who really does want students to do well. Only two tests and three lab reports and the reports are done with a partner so they aren't bad. He's very boring though and the class is dry, and it can be hard to understand him at times since he tends to be very redundant. But overall, very easy class if you have to take it.

Professor is very friendly, knowledgable accross multiple discplines, and is always willing to help you out after class. His homework and exams consistantly belie the easy nature of his lectures however, so watch out for that. So long as you do the homework in its entirity, then homework should be straightforward though. Overall, great professor.

Bob's way of teaching (at least with Electronics) is a little hard to get used to, but if you have some patience you will do fine in his class. He bases a lot of his grading on how well you understand the concepts, and will stay with you beyond class periods to ensure that you 'get it'. Asking questions always helps.

Class wasn't 100% easy but was easier than I thought it would be. He gives 5 tests (not too hard but made you really think about what you learned) and 2 projects (which were slightly hard). He really likes the sound of his voice so you might miss some important things but if you go to his Office Hours, he really helps you understand the material
