Comment:
Of all the classes I have taken at DePaul, this has definitely been the worst and it's really not even close. It's an asynchronous class, and three weeks into the class after posting next to nothing he emails us and goes "eh, async doesn't really work for me" and now it's like a weird hybrid class? Do NOT take it is so stressful for no reason.

TERRIBLE professor, waste of Money and time. Did not organize the class according to weeks, assignment were given no direction. I don't understand how he expects anyone to finish anything without guidance.

Definitely, the least organized prof I've EVER had and harshly criticized assignments but provided no directional help to correct mistakes. He can be contradictive in lectures. Exams are hard even though it is open-note. I learned more from the class tutor and Googling everything myself than I actually did from him. Would avoid if possible. -11/10

Class is easy and pointless. Not really sure who it's designed for. I had the comfort of being an employed web dev in his class and literally none of it applies to production work. I think he used to work on WordPress back in the day but you can tell he is far removed from the standards of today. Other posters are right: the guy is undeniably rude

Terrible professor! He is very rude in class and through email. He likes to criticize bad projects/labs rather than show us good examples of the projects/labs. Doesn't grade anything, you won't know what you have until the quarter is over and grades are due for professors

Comment:
UXD270 is literally CSS101. If you want to subject yourselves to hideous web design and a never-ending monologue on why he loves Flexbox than feel free. Worst of all, the guy is flat out rude. He's not bad with CSS -- which he clearly prides himself on -- but it's all extremely basic and not reflective of current web development. 1/10. Hard pass.

Probably one of the worst UXD classes I've ever taken. Ended up being a very bad web dev. class where the professor is super picky about coding sites that belong in 2006. Boring class where he rants about nothing, didn't learn anything. Doesn't grade in time, no feedback. Gives quizzes he knows people will do bad on. Don't waste your time.

Comment:
His UXD270 class is pretty much a platform to watch him struggle building extremely outdated sites with CSS. We never talked about user experience or why common elements are structured the way they are just him building hideous and mind-bogglingly inefficient CSS sites. If you are into web dev than find something else. This class is a waste of $.

Every review you are reading is true this class is insane. He rarely ever grades the many assignments we have and if we actually do receive feedback its weeks later. Lectures are a MESS and I have to teach myself everything. The homework amount is ridiculous and the quizzes are impossible. I did not believe a course could THIS bad.

He doesn't have redeemable qualities as a prof. I'm shocked he's been allowed to teach for so long. He is incredibly unorganized--his lectures are a mess and he constantly deals with technical difficulties. He also takes weeks and weeks to grade past assignments, so therefore his feedback is almost useless because it's so late. Just a bad prof

The guys doesn't seem to know how to connect with his students. When students ask why something isn't working, his reaction is "Well you must've done something wrong". Of course we did, but show us how we got it wrong and why instead of just dismissing students in front of the whole class. He doesn't set a quality learning environment. At all.

DO NOT TRY AND TAKE THIS CLASS, TRY AND TAKE THE GAE. I was in this class and everything about each project leading up to the final project is a scam. The first 7 projects are really easy and then the final project is HARD and worth 20% of your course grade. The test is VERY HARD if you aren't careful these 2 items can LITERALLY FAIL YOU.

You will definitely have to come to this class prepared to teach yourself everything, because this professor is not interested in doing so. Also, do not expect any feedback for your work. We did not receive grades for numerous assignments for weeks.

Does not care about this class. All his examples are recycled, the only material he offered to prepare for his final exam (given on top of a final project) was a study guide for a midterm he had 4 years ago. Incompetent at lecturing; unresponsive to questions; inaccessible; you'll learn more from googling stuff on the internet.

If I could give less than 1, I would. Terrible class, does not know how to teach students new to web design. I have not received a grade since week 2 and since then there have been 8 assignments that took hours and hours to complete. Does not teach much in lectures, I had to rely mostly on online tutorials to get through the hw.

Talk about a waste of 3 hours... I was one of the few who went to class every week. He took our Q's that he required us to submit (that we pulled out of our asses) and answered them for 3 hours... THEN MADE US DO LABS AT HOME. Every other 3 hour class i had was half lab half lecture. Would not recommend

Utter chaos, disorganization. He had no curricula or plan to teach content, sent us to Lynda to learn everything. Ignored all my emails regarding classwork & projects. Graded ALL class content 3.5 weeks after final. We went into final not knowing what we were doing right. Ranted about his never-ending personal problems in class every session.
