Dr. Harrison is the head of the department and does not teach a whole lot of classes. That being said I definitely recommend him, especially if you are a history major. Amazing professor, incredibly interesting, makes you think. Initially may seem intimidating but he is a very nice and approachable man.

Very intimidating teacher - not an easy class at all - I took this over the summer, we literally did 15 weeks of work in 4 weeks - a TON of work. Not always clear. Tough teacher but is willing to help as long as you put forth 100% effort. I busted my butt and only got a B-

Dr. Harrison is an intelligent amazing professor. I've taken him for his 2 mini semester courses which fly by and 2 of his other courses. Although he may seem intimidating on the first day of class, he is really kind and wants to make sure you do your best. Easy and Fair Grader on papers but study for the midterm and final,3 hr class means 3 hrs

I think that he is a hard grader. I did not like his grade distribution. If you did bad on the final your screwed because the 3 papers you will do and the 6 quizzes you will take means nothing

Even though Harrison is the hardest graders out of all the history professors, he is still worth it. He challenges you to do your best, and you learn a lot about whatever topic he's doing (this case it's Mexico). Really REALLY likes student interaction outside of the classroom. While class is long since he never lets you out early, it's good!

Dr. Harrison is a very very smart man. The course is not difficult if you do the reading, and follow the syllabus. The three hours for the mini session flew by. Go to his office hours he really takes that into consideration. The mid term and final come right from the questions on the syllabus. A great Prof!

I had Dr. Harrison for Honors History. There is a lot of reading and assignments, but it's totally worth the effort. Dr. Harrison is an amazing professor - he knows so much history! If you put time and effort into the class, you will learn SO much. Plus, he is a very fair grader, so it is definitely possible to get good grades.

The man does know his subject. But let me say this: he is not understanding of personal situations. Take if you are ready to work but be very attentive to detail.

Dr. Harrisons latin america classes was by far the most intresting class I have taken. I love the content and the powerpoint presentations, but I don't like the way he structured his midterm and final. He had 5 terms to id, 3 essays and one mandatory essay for the final, which I think is a little execesive.Would recommend barbir for non-western

HIS EXAMS ARE RIDICOUlOUS, DON"T TAKE HIM IF YOU VALUE YOUR GPA,AND I AM A HISTORY MAJOR DON'T LISTEN TO WHAT OTHERS SAY WHEN HE IS A NICE PROFESSOR, HE IS NOT ONLY HARD BUT ALSO NOT VERY COMPASSIONATE, WHEN IT COMES TO SHOWING SOME LENIENCY WHILE GRADING TESTS, FOR NON-WESTERN COURSE, TAKE BARBIR, HE IS MUCH EASIER COMPARED TO HARRISON!
