Comment:
Bin is such a sweet man. He is so passionate about teaching the pastoral! You read a few books, but in class all you do is some discussing about overall themes. He tends to take what someone says and run with it, but he really does have some good things to say. You'll get an A after the final project, which is to connect your life to the pastoral.

Comment:
Bin is on a totally different intellectual level than the majority of his students. Some students find him boring because he talks very quietly, but he has a lot of intriguing insight to give. For the final project/presentation, it is easy to get an A as long as it is clear you thought about the pastoral critically.

He was an amazing professor! I took the honors section of Literary Inquiry. We read a couple books and we have discussions on each book, but he guarantees an A for everyone who shows up and tries. Our final was very very nice because it was our application of pastoral in any topic that we choose and we present it to the class. He's probably my fave

I took his honors pastoral class and found it to be difficult to understand, but easy to get an A in. He's an awesome guy and although his classes were slow, I liked listening to him.

I took his honors pastoral class. I can't say I was all that interested in pastoral literature (I didn't know what it was before taking the class), but his thoughts were insightful despite his ramblings. Little is expected besides completing the readings for class discussions. The final is a project on any topic as long it ties into the course.

Fabulously intelligent and insightful, but hopelessly disorganized. Take his Literary Inquiry class only if you feel you don't need any structure whatsoever to learn. He's probably better in poetry workshop classes than literature-based ones. I think he's, above all, a poet. He likes to ramble, but his ramblings do make you think.

Most fascinating professor I've ever had. Even his rambling is helpful and educational. Most insightful course material ever and the first time i have ever had a class in which the autonomy afforded the student assignments is more helpful than harmful. Best class ever

I took his poetry class and loved it. He got me thinking of new ideas every class. He does ramble sometimes but its worth it. Ramke really inspired me to write again and to enjoy it! One of best classes I've ever taken.

I think he's the most helpful, insightful teacher I ever had. I still have notes from his lectures ten years ago. Take his classes. They will change your life.
