I would have given him a four, but... He just wasn't a computer or tech-savvy person enough for the times we live in. It definitely would have helped, especially during the COVID-19 lockdown. It would have helped the grade also if there were more graded assignments. He had very few assignments that were a very large part of the grade.

Just pay attention during lectures and do your reading, you should be fine. Tests were primarily essay questions with a few multiple-choice/fill the blank. The final was also not cumulative, but a test instead.

Stevenson is hilarious and smart. His tests are heavy on essays. We all had a lot of fun and great discussions. I learned so much and very interesting reads that could be a bit difficult. Respected our ideas and liked to hear from us. Has some confusing instruction on assignments and a pretty difficult final research paper. Great experience and fun

A lot of reading...had to do 2 1/2 page summaries every week. When you need help or clarity on assignments, he doesn't really help. You'll ask him and he doesn't give you a straight answer. I do not excel at reading and writing, and felt he did not help very much. Nice guy, great personality, but did not like his class.

Best teacher I've ever had, intelligent and funny. You'll get a good grade if you show up, listen, and write notes. Reading can be a lot but not impossible. I have taken five classes with him and everyone has been amazing.

Excellent class, the readings are enjoyable and discussions are really great. He is clear about what he expects on tests and questions are almost entirely based on discussions in class. I would take another class with this professor again without questions. Fun class in which you will learn a lot and read some great literature.

GREAT PROF! He makes you think, without preaching his own agenda. I loved this teacher. YOU MUST KEEP UP with the reading to understand the class discussions & pass. You read poetry, a few essays, short stories, and two novels. Class discussions are fun & stimulating -- do raise your hand! He's very encouraging, never puts anyone down.

This teacher is incredibly hard and expects a lot out of you. You have to read soo much literature that dates back to the 1800. its really hard to understand and his test are even harder!! think of taking a different class or someone else who teaches the class.

Interesting guy...I enjoyed his lectures and the readings (for the most part) were quality literature. I didn't feel like I had to do all of the reading as long as I came to class and understood the important aspects of the piece. Gave partial credit on all of my answers on the tests, really saved my a**. Pleasant class and prof

I liked this class. He is a funny professor and a smart guy. If you go to class, do the readings and take notes, you can get A's on the tests. There is LOTS of extra credit if you need it and he grades on a curve. I would take another class with him for sure!

If you love literature you will love this class. The book is mandatory and must be brought to class everyday, also you must do the reading or you will FAIL terribly. The class is based on conversation and uses students opinions to convey ideas. Amazing Prof., he is SO intelligent and his in-depth analysis is so intriguing. This class is worth it.

The teacher's course criteria and material are a supreme complication on the human cerebelum. If you want a easy English teacher, I would not advise any student to take a course with this professor. His biased viewpoints on writing are unexceptable and his tests are harder than any exams that I have ever taken in my life.
