Can only skip class twice. Total of 4 papers and a 5ish minute speech about one paper. Doesn't post hw or essay grades in canvas. Lectures seem like he's just trying to waste time. Not a hard class, but sitting through the lecture sucks. Got an 88 on all papers I submitted. Interesting guy. Feedback on papers really helped.

He must write all the positive comments on here because I would rather have an ics bus run me over than take his class again. His lectures are pointless and he's very arrogant even though he's a low-life gen ed teacher. I've never had such a horrible interaction with a teacher before. it's sad when a student acts more mature than their teacher

I have loved all of my writing teachers until I had Mr. Smith. There are multiple ways to write a great paper but his close mindedness/arrogance made him believe his way was best. I professionally confronted him how he didn't give me sufficient enough reasoning for a low grade. He acted defensive/childish but regraded higher. take someone else

WRTC 103 was an okay class. The lectures are straight up boring and Smith gets on so many rants and off topic easily. Hes a tough grader but gives great feedback on papers. There are 4 papers and a presentation. There are worse teachers

Professor Smith was very entertaining to have for WRTC 103. It can get a bit heavy on lectures, however, the anecdotes that he throws in make it worth it. He gives great feedback in conferences and is a practiced writer himself. He will work with you and give you ideas to make sure you succeed even if you aren't good at writing. Highly recommend.

I eventually dropped this class because my credit from English 101 transferred as WRTC 103 so I no longer needed the credit. However, for the time I was in the class I felt it was useless. His lectures have no meaning and are completely random. You only have 4 papers in this class however sitting in this class during the day was a waste of my time.

Smith is an okay professor who just has very long and off topic lectures. He always lectures for the entire class period and no one even knows what he is talking about. Your grade is based off 4 papers and participation. You have to do more work than other WRTC 103 professors give but if you put in the work you can end with a good grade.

Smith was a good teacher who cared about his students but at times he was a bit much with his lectures. He will go on and on until some one has a question. You have only 4 papers and are not very challenging. You can do very well in his class if you take the time to do your work

Professor Smith was a really good professor. Very energetic and enthusiastic about what he is teaching. He lectured for about an hour some classes and then for the last few minutes would be like, ok do this and nobody would know what he is talking about. His essays could get annoying but he gives good feedback if you go to his office hours.

Dr. Smith is overall a good professor. He is really enthusiastic in his lectures, even though they can get quite boring. Your grade is based off of 4 long essays and participation. He gives really good feedback it just takes so long to get it back, and by that time you've already handed in the next essay.

Very smart and passionate professor that clearly puts a ton of thought into his classes. Understanding and will work with you. Sadly, he has an "all or none" policy, so if you don't complete all assignments, you fail.

This class is pretty average. There is a reading due every class but I never read it and I'm doing fine. No tests or quizes. The final was take home. There was a project assignment that we worked on throughout the year that wasn't hard. Prof Smith can be kinda rude and talks A LOT but he means well.

Prof. Smith is solid, but assigns lengthy, sometimes odd readings and can grade papers harshly. Overall an okay course and professor combo but I'd pass.

Professor Smith is really a great guy! His lectures are funny and he really cares about his students. He makes himself available during office hours and gives really good feedback on essays. Sometimes assigns strange and long readings, but always goes over them in depth in class.

He's a very touch grader, but is a chill prof. Smith makes you read strange articles and then goes over them the next class, so you usually don't do much. Although, it gets a bit tiring, when he takes 1 hr to go over what he expects for each essay. Overall, hes a great prof.

I would rather chew of glass and stab my eyes out with a fork. If you confront him about a essay he will get super defensive and mark you down for it for the rest of the year. DO NOT TAKE UNLESS U ARE A DUMMY

I am pretty sure he writes his own rating on this site. He likes to hear himself speak and you will learn nothing. This class is not worth taking at all. He made me cry and continued to tear down my work. He isn't helpful when you go out of your way for help. You have to play by his rules or you wont do well. Stay away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Professor Smith is very cool and gives great feedback. There were only four essays, the last of which counting as the final. Not much work other than those essays, which by the way you get the week off of class to meet with him. Would definitely take again.

Smith is a very interesting guy. He's super energetic so it's hard to fall asleep. Class discussions are fun & the assignments aren't your typical writing assignments you'd expect. Make sure you take notes during class discussion because they will help your paper a ton. Peer editing is part of your grade, do well on those; he's a hard grader.

Nice guy but very tough grader. Class was mostly him talking, which is interesting but not super interactive. Very responsive through email which is nice. Thoroughly answers questions. Mandatory meetings for essays. Three essays total, plus a few random short writing assignments. Difficult to manage an A
