Reads too much from the textbook and doesn't do well answering student questions. Provides better explanations after class than in class.

I had Professor Hull in the Fall of 1988 (no joke) and still wake up in cold sweats thinking about that first calculus exam. Seriously, the exams were so freaking hard compared to the class work. I got 32 on my first exam...which turned out to be a C. I'm glad I took the class though - tough experiences have been so helpful later in life.

This professor spends most his time doing proofs on the board, which does not translate to the tests. Tests problems are harder than the ones he does on the board. Won't really help you outside (or inside) of class. He seems like a jolly older man, but not very good at telling jokes.

It REALLY helps to go to any/all help sessions he has. He also bumped up my grade significantly so as long as you make an effort you should be good. He only does examples straight out of the book so the hw is difficult bc the problems are more advanced than the examples.

If anyone wanted to suffer, it would be a good idea to take a course with this professor. I personally didn't like his class at all. He is a very tough professor as well as he grades homeworks and exams so harsh. Therefore, it would be better for you if you choose another professor so that you can get a better education and grade.

Don't take Hull for Calc 2...it's a bad bad idea...A, I couldn't stay awake, he's so boring...B, He doesn't actually teach, so I really struggled...C, his tutor times are ridiculous, and D, when I went to him for help, he didn't explain anyting. I was sick and missed classes, got behind, and almost failed the class because I couldn't catch up.

Truely the most worthless math professor in the history of Valpo. The problem is that he is a stats guy, not a calc guy, and because of that really doesn't know how to do most of what he is supposed to teach. The result is a bunch of really easy examples that he can work out on the board, and very difficult homework and tests.

For some reason, the guy just doesn't teach very well. He gives very few examples, and does assign in-class problems almost every day. He is also worthless when it comes to asking for help. He usually just tells you what you already have written down (not if its actually right), and then goes on his way. Does use every cliche in the book.

Yeah I've had this teacher for the past couple years, and I will have him for the rest of my college career. He doesn't give one-on-one help with the HW or anything for that matter. Make sure you do any practice problems because he always puts those on tests.

I took a 2 hour block class with him. Both hours he showed us examples on the sections then gave us practice problems to do.He doesn't help you too much when asked but tells you to look for help from students. It's a fairly easy class if you actually READ the sections which takes 10 minutes. Also you get a cheat sheet to use on the test.slighteffort=B

He is very dry and tries to make stupid jokes to lighten up the class but doesn't succeed in doing so, it's very boring. He isn't very good at helping his students but there isn't that much homework either. Studying for the tests is a must, but you get to use a cheat-sheet so they're not terrible. He assigns way too many in-class problems.

His classes are nice in that you always know what is expected of you. The lectures aren't particularly interesting, but his examples are to the point, and if you can do them, then you'll get an A on the tests. Amusing use of cliches :).

Same old song and dance we've been there before (in other words don't take any classes with him unless you want to lose your hearing and get a spit shower)...though he does use colorful sidewalk chalk.
