Comment:
Challenging, but fantastically interesting professor. Warning: he isn't great at giving you indications of where you are...he'll critique your paper intensely no matter whether he likes it or not. Also very fair. Doesn't play favorites, expects a lot from his students, doesn't control conference. Overall a great professor.

Robert made my Hum 110 experience miserable. I was so excited about Hum when beginning Reed, but quickly grew to dread having to spend any amount of time in the same room as this man. While others seem to bow down to him, he is pushy and rude and simply makes students feel uncomfortable to exist in the same space as him.

Comment:
Robert is the zen master/jolly uncle of Reed: the voice of reason and wisdom. Never drives conference too much, but you'd best believe he knows EVERYTHING about the subject matter. Everything. Just incredibly kind, intelligent, and sagacious with an encyclopedic brain and good sense of humor. I want him to adopt me!

Understanding, understandable, brilliant at guiding a conference without railroading it. His lectures are also dense enough to feel like three lectures in one hour, and are very informative with no blank space or redundancy.
