Very easy class, he's very polite and simple, he just likes communicating with students during the class period and hearing our thoughts. He doesn't grade any assignments except attendance throughout the semester, no quizzes or exams, we just turn in a 15 page portfolio at the end containing all of our work/papers throughout the semester. Great guy

Pretty easy comp class. Homework is not always clear but is easy to figure out. Papers are not hard at all and do not have to be long. 5 total papers across semester.

Professor Woodland is a great professor. The online classes are wonderful and engaging and the assigned papers are broken down into steps so by the time you are creating your portfolio they are as perfect as can be. Sometimes directions are not clear at first, but he is quick to clear them up. My only complaint is grading, he is not very quick.

I would take Professor Woodland again if I had the chance! His class is interesting and useful. Be ready to participate in class discussions. He loves students who contribute to discussion; so always do the pre-readings if they are assigned. As long as you show up, participate, and do well on your portfolio you will get an A!

This class was interesting. Professor Woodland didn't really do much teaching. The class was mostly student discussions and group projects. For me it was an easy A, but if you don't show up for the discussions your grade may not be as good.

DO NOT TAKE! No feedback was given on any papers until days before the portfolio was due. Homework assignments would not always been posted timely. Didn't respond to emails with questions, and if he did, it was days later. Not a lot of clarity in expectations.

He was a good professor but a very SLOW grader! And he is not really clear with what he wants you to do!I would not recommend. He never put grades in so you don't know if your failing or not in the class!

Great guy and he enjoys teaching it. He does ask the class many questions and waits for a reply and has the class work together so be prepared. He also replaced friday in-class days with online classes so you didn't have to come in. One problem is that he takes a long time to pass back papers.

Well, I believe the prof had a health issue during my semester... so I'm not sure if this applies to all of his classes. I kept up on my blog/discussion assignments (which were pretty easy), but spent a lot of time brushing up my portfolio at the end of the semester. Do well on your portfolio, and you should do well in the class!

He is a collaboration freak. He gives out lots of group works and expect lots of class participation. So, be ready to work with other students. Most frustrating thing is he never returns our work, giving us no grades or feedback on our work. We did play secondlife close to the end of the semester(that was fun).

Okay prof, kind of boring, pretty much never returns papers but grades very easily. Recommend for an easy A or A-. Not always clear. We played Second Life for like a few weeks worth of class. He also has "virtual classes" where you just talk on a forum and don't go to class.

Great teacher, at least for me. He let you write about what you wanted to write about and didn't judge you on that. Easy A
