This Santa Claus look alike is full of himself. If you find yourself in his class and you want an A, take my advice: Present your case study to him early. He will tell you it's C-level, but allow you to rework it. Do that and keep bugging him for pointers on how to make it better. Eventually you'll get an A. Note: he goes easy on hot chicks.

The people who have rated him so far have been very fair in assessing him. If you do not care about philosophy, DO NOT take him, it is a somewhat enriching class, but not worth the hours you won't have to put into the more important classes. Plus if you like 21 page midterms,5-10 page term papers and 1.5 hr presentations, he's the guy for you.

One of the most difficult/rewarding classes I have ever taken. There was so much work to do (1.25 hour presentation and a 15 page paper) but I learned a lot. Do not take the class if you have poor writing skills.

Has a reputation for being really hard, but it's easy to get a good grade. Say whatever you want on papers as long as you can back it up, you can always redo. I failed the midterm and the final, but redid the midterm and got a C. I never paid attention in class, just sat there with my laptop. I can't tell you a thing about philosophy, but got a B-

This is by far the hardest AOK teacher. His lectures go on and on and go off topic. His tests are insanely hard and he grades them very harshly. He is a great teacher if you really want to learn philosophy but he doesn't connect with students.

A very knowledgable professor. He tends to go on strange tangents and entertains weird honors kids' erroneous ideas, which takes away from the flow of the lecture. Besides that, he presents the material well and in a way that is interesting and attempts corny/ironic humor for some comic relief. Generally considered the hardest AOK professor.

By far the hardest AOK teacher. Good teacher, but WAY too hard for a required honors class. All my friends said how easy their AOK class was while AOK was my hardest class. If you care about philosophy take Taylor, but if your like i am, pick someone else.

Easy class, if you want to do the work you are going to get an A no problem. I did not do the work, did not re-do any tests and only edited my essays for grammar after they were passed back. He was interesting, never felt like falling asleep and was never watching the clock. Class brought about alot of new knowledge that is usefull even if you aren

Very interesting class if you like philosophy. Can redo any test or paper. Only grades are the four papers and two exams (and final). Every one of these can be redone for credit. Very funny in class as well. Highly recommended

Dr. Taylor knows his philosophy and wants to challenge your ideas and values (if you have a conservative background, which I don't). He requires a lot in terms of reading, essays, and exams, but seems to grade easy in my experience. If you do screw up on one or all assignments, he does allow take-home make-ups. His class will change your thinking.

He cracks me up! He is so intelligent. It was easy to fall asleep in the class as a freshman inexperienced in philosophy. The material and his writing assignments were challenging. They eventually made me want to work harder. He is an amazing professor. Maybe one day I'll be as smart as he is.

I hated this class so much. Seriously a lot of word games to prove points folloewd by really hard tests. It's not bad when you can make them up but you only get one chance for the final.

This was a class that I actually had to work on, but the tests were rather simple, as long as you had listened in class and studied the notes beforehand. Not good for people who can't write well or don't want to write a lot. He has wonderful insights and is a great debate class. I enjoyed it.

Very hard, very demanding, but very insightful. One of the brightest teachers I've had. Class material is at times off the wall and wandering, but comes together nicely. Don't take him for the sake of knocking out an elective, take him for some deep thought and possibly a life-changing outlook.

He definitely knows the subject well, but the class is very demanding. His grading is based on the "Yale Standard". However, he lets you redo all classwork, so as long as you put in the effort, it's possible to do really well.

He's a good teacher, he really is. 3 papers, two tests and a final, I got a C because I didn't try and was focused on calculus and chemistry. So.. if you go to class every day and do all the work without putting in much effort, you'll get a C. It's easy to get an A or B if you try.

3 papers 3-5 pgs- 1 paper a month. Easy. Can be redone. 2 tests with lots of questions. The catch is he has notes/definitions on the internet- test is made from that basically. You don't really need to read the reading- though it helps. Lectures are 75 min- sometimes interesting- very comprehensive.
