I learned so much from this professor and gave me so much insight into politics, something I never thought I'd really be interested in, that I've carried it with me through my life and yearned to learn more. He gave me an edge by his profound teaching. I'll never forget how good this teacher was.

As a student of the last class of David Ellenburg, I will say that I am incredibly glad that I was able to be taught by this instructor. The experience and refinement that comes with ages of teaching was exceptionally displayed in his course.

He is intimidating at first, but he actually likes his students as long as you do the work. Teaches sort of Socraticly. Class is never dull. He wants you to think for yourself and question your preconceived stance on certain subjects.

Very interesting teacher. He definitely knows what he is talking about and knows how to have fun teaching it. I really feel like I learned a lot of people and how to listen to their opinions better. Tests are easy, assignments are easy. If you can't pass this class, you are the problem.

i would not recommend taking this class, the notes on the reviews are taken down by you as he says them verbally, then once you take the test nothing on the test goes with the reviews. he doesn't post any grades to blackboard so you never know how you are doing in his class. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROFESSOR WHAT SO EVER.

The best teacher you will ever have! If you listen to the lecture and take notes, you will have what you need. I rarely opened the book and aced this class, Hist from Civil War, and Gov. He knows history and loves teaching it. Helps you see things that you may not expect. Wish I could take him for all my classes!

Most interesting teacher I've ever had. If you argue less and sit back and listen you'll learn ALOT. Cont affairs isn't so much about news as it is issues. Im a republican and didnt agree with some of his views but was very interested in learning different points. Go in with an open mind, don't open your mouth without thinking first and take notes!

Funny guy. Most of the grade is tests which are multiple choice, but hard. He puts questions on them that are not in the notes or the book. No extra credit, except 1 ten point bonus exam. 5 abstracts worth 50 points total. He's not helpful and don't even bother asking about your grade. Would NOT take any class with him again.

He's very funny and interesting! Bring a tape recorder cause it's hard to keep up with him. This was the summer class and had to turn in abstracts every week and did four tests. The tests can be hard, you just have to do a lot of studying and take lots of notes. I would take him again!!! Great teacher and is there if you need help.

Tests are multiple choice, but very hard. I didn't really care for him too much. He's very full of himself, somewhat self-righteous. Does know his stuff and is very funny, and interesting. Bring a voice recorder, he talks WAY too fast and you have to take lots of notes. Read the book.

This guy is hands down the greatest teacher I've ever had. He's not necessarily easy, but he makes the subject very interesting which in turn makes the class easier. He somehow makes you interested no matter what your view on the subject is. He's a master. I was honored to take his class. I highly reccomend him.

If you're scared of speaking in class, you probably won't like this class at first. I'm that kind of person. He'll pick people at random for questions and demonstrations. At first I was mortified to be picked on, but I got used to it. Can be offensive, but just ignore his Faith bashing and take everything he says with a smile. Not a boring class!

David is the best professor I've ever had. He challenges what you think, and it turn he will make your beliefs much more solid. David is not easy, but well worth the challenge, should you choose to accept.

I can't believe this man doesn't have any hot points. He is an excellent teacher and extremely funny. His class is fun and very interesting. It's hard not to be distracted by the man's visceral sex appeal, though. As fascinating as he is, sometimes I find it hard to concentrate. He's intelligent, funny, charming, challenging and handsome! A+

Ellenburg is just a plain out funny guy. He knows history in and out and he gives his lectures with a humorous aspect. Lot of note taking but no homework, your grade is prety much determined by how well you do on the tests. Don't diss' on OU or he'll go off on you, haha

I had David for U.S. History and I cannot recommend him enough. He is an amazingly well spoken teacher who has mastered the art of commanding attention. Taking lots of notes and reading are required, but there is little homework. If you like interesting lectures and test oriented classes then take David. I am taking him for Government next semester

Tests are multiple choice, but don't let it fool you. Don't ride on notes alone. You're expected to know some book text in addition to lectures. He gives you a fair shot, so an A is achievable. Just make sure you read everything. He's good at lectures, and has lot's of interesting ideas to ponder. Lot's of reading, and little other homework.

I hate history before I took David's class (u.s. history civil war-present). He presents the matter in such a way that is thought provoking and interesting. Tests are very easy if you take good notes, and it's almost impossible not to. I'm taking him again for my American Federal Government class.
