I am an Environmental Science major and decided to take programming in python to make myself more marketable. I had never taken a computer class before, but Dr. Rizki did a great job explaining things in different terms for different people.

Dr. Rizki is a great guy but I didn't honestly get a whole lot out of his lectures, as he spent a lot of time reemphasizing points for the undergrad students who weren't paying attention. Group projects weren't bad, and the tests were a breeze. He does mostly test over his lectures though, the books are just good supplemental material

Great professor. I would take his class again. Very knowledgeable and patient. Cares about his students. All lectures are recorded. Weekly quizzes, 4 projects and a final.

Rizki expects you to know C++ coming into the CS3100/5100 (Data Structures & Algorithms) class. So I advise you to learn it, because he jumps right into data structures / big O. Long and boring lectures, projects, and homework. VERY harsh grading on projects!!! It's basically CS1181, but harder, and in C++. Although, he does speak good english!

Fairly easy professor. Tests, labs, and projects were simple for the most part. There was only one project that was insanely difficult, but he made it up to the class by offering an entire very easy project that would be worth all extra credit. Moved at somewhat of a slow pace through the material in lectures, but I would overall recommend.

One of the greats! I did not have an adequate background in statistics to take this class, but he convinced me to take it, then helped me get through it. He wanted me to succeed as much as I did. This class was hard, but I made it because of a great professor.

Dr. Rizki is one of the best computer science teachers I have had. I enjoyed his lectures. Note to CS242 students: He does not teach you C++, he expects you to go through the basics on your own. CS242 in my experience was more or less an introduction to data structures.

Rizki is the best CS teacher I've ever had. His lectures are clear and interesting, which is quite a feat when you consider the subject matter at hand. His homework is very clear and always provides a some source code to get you started. I will definitely be looking for any classes he teaches in the future.

Great teacher! Very clear at explaining difficult topics. If you are a novice, don't worry -- Rizki will bring you up to speed. If you're an advanced student, you'll still learn a thing or two. I would highly recommend taking any of his classes. And oh yeah: MEGA-BABE!!! ;)

Excellent, excellent professor. If you can take Dr. Rizki for CS 240, 241, and 242, you MUST do it. He knows anything you can imagine about C++ and he teaches it very well. Whether you talk after class, in his office, or via e-mail, he always is very helpful and clear. The exams and projects are tough, but he grades and curves generously.

rather difficult to understand at first, but he will help you, just ask. After a few weeks, you will get a hang of C++ with him. Alternatives: Kakumanu or Matson

Rizki alright. I prefer Matson, but I had him first. I say if all possible take the same teacher. It was a hard transition from Matson to Rizki. If you can't get Matson try Kakumanu he's second to Matson in my opinion. Rizki's good if you plan to take him all the way.

Dr. Rizki's CS 765 class is very time consuming. Expect to spend about 10-12 hours out of class per week on average. He *is* very helpful though - more than willing to meet with you out of class if you have questions. In summary, difficult class, but helpful professor.

Comment:
Mr. Rizki is an excellent instructor. He provides great examples, and makes C++ easier to understand. He is always available after class for questions. My only concern is that he kinda blocks the notes on the board when you are sitting in the wrong place.
