Solid but unspectacular lecturer. Has a lot of confidence (deservedly so, the guy has tons of industry experience). Not sure how much he contributed in designing the course, but I liked the project based approach.

Fleisig's approach to teaching is innovative. I enjoyed the emphasis on the "process " of learning and the focus on application of skills to solve problems and help real clients.

Dr Fleisig is a great prof , who is committed to teaching, learning, and research. I feel that I have more competency now with the key skills to apply in engineering.

Although the class wasn't very difficult and the lectures didn't relate that well to the group project (which is most of the course), I still found the lectures very applicable to my future as an engineer. We learned a little bit about a variety of things and I found the lectures engaging and interesting

He teaches nothing useful in the class. The final exam was a closed-book exam but I heard that it was open-book exam before. The exam was all about the textbooks and some guest talks' content. The textbooks add up to over 400 pages. How can he make the exam closed-book and expect all of us to memorize all contents from textbooks?!

Comment:
Fleisg takes himself a little too seriously, even though 1P03 is a joke. It shouldn't be joke -- this is real engineering stuff he is teaching, and it's applicable to all design jobs and even most outside of design. Yet still, he can't effectively explain the difference between an objective, constraint, and requirement.

If you attend the lectures you pretty much know everything for midterm and final exam. The project is worth 60% of the grade which is amazing actually.

Fairly easy class. There is a group project worth a good portion of your mark which is a pain. Lectures are pretty boring. I had 8:30 lecture with him.. I can still here his voice yelling "GOOOODD MORNING" ringing in my ears. Tutorials for this class can be really dry, but the project can be rewarding in the end if you worked well with your group.

The lectures are long, boring and for the most part useless. But Fleising is great and the assignments aren't too bad. The easiest class you'll take in first year eng.

Tries to be simple, but complicates things with specific definitions (although that's the nature of the course)

I always found his lectures interesting. He's got a lot of real-world engineering experience and it shows through. I think the worst part of the course was the actual material we had to know; it wasn't very interesting and the multitude of definitions we needed to keep track of got a little bit ridiculous.

I found this class was a complete waste of time. He expected a lot of work to be put into a class about nothing, when engineers have more important classes to worry about
