He is by far the worst professor I have ever taken. He is rude and has no people skills. We had an essay due and I was not able to come to class because my grandmother passed away that morning, I emailed him and he said he needed proof if I wanted to turn in my essay next class period because he does not accept work through email.

I had the most horrible experience with this professor. I even write about him in essays when it has to do with oppression and dominance. He's crazy strict and his material is so hard. I had surgery and had a 2 week leave and after I came back with all work completed he advice me to drop since I missed important quizzes.

worst teacher i have ever had he is an awful professor grades you way too strictly and talks down on you. definitely look for another professor but if he's the last resort, go ahead and take him but be ready to fail if you do not do everything on your essays exactly how he prefers it. i mean EVERY little detail can doc you points.

Hes a really inspiring teacher and can be very caring about his students. Sometimes we would share discussions about how we can find solutions on our active reading in order to get through the class. The downside is that he is very strict with grades. He will grade you on small mistakes on your essay. Dont meet the requirements, you cant revise

If you love English and want to get better on the subject take his class it will help you improve, but if you just need the class for credit and you are not passionate about it I would recommend not taking it because you have to work for it so much to even just to pass the class and it has to be your number one priority.

He's tough, strict and gives you little wiggle room. Old fashioned kind of teacher and comes off as myopic and unwilling to go with progressing times as far as technology goes. That being said he'll give good feedback, and make you work hard. But life happens and wants you to make his class priority #1. If you got a full plate don't take him.

I just think to myself is this the way professors are as you get into higher levels of English and university? This class discourages me and has had me reconsider my life in education just because I am not willing to deal with this again! this class had a sad vibe. If he lightened up a little it would be cool. Only The strong survive in this class!

every one in my class got an F on every single paper when we'd ask him for help he would say to figure it out on our own. he smelt bad and my class went from 40 students the first day to 7 students remaining barely halfway through the semester. he was VERY RUDE and belittled students who tried to participate and learn.

I'm taking English class with him. He is an outstanding professor: If you are ready to work hard take this class. Professor Smith is the best English teacher in SWC. Yes it is true that his class is not an essay one, but it is worth it. Trust me! He prepares you to be an A student.

This class is a challenge, but it does help you become a better reader and writer. Mr. Smith really cares about teaching and informing students about college. If you work hard it will pay off. I feel more secure about my writing after this class, and my essays scores have improved since. I recommend it if you really wish to improve your skills.

Not an easy class, but totally worth it. He gives great handouts, and excellent feedback. He makes you keep a journal which requires a lot of writing. He will strenghten your writing skills and prepare you for University's standards. MUST TAKE.

Mr Smith is an excellent teacher. If you want to learn more about education(in general) and reading and writing,take His class. Very helpful, talk to him after class or before. He is always willing to help. This is college and you must be willing to put effort and dedication.

I took Eng 115 with this guy. I picked him because all the other classes were full and not his. Now i know why. Wow. You better memorize the book to pass the quiz. He expects perfection or you get a zero. No credit for any work.Ronald is absolutely convinced that most college students do not belong in college. He stinks bad too. Sit in the back!

I was a crasher and it was the second day of that class. I could tell that he is very strict, no humor inside the class, only his voice could be heard and quiz in the very 2nd day. Thanks God I couldn't get in XD but I really don't recommend him as a teacher.

Careful. I dropped his class because I became extremely stressed due to this class. This class needs to be high on your priority list and you will use the book often. When I left there were about 10 people left. He makes his opinions known and can often be misinterpreted. Good Luck

Only take this class if you are ready to work hard for a C or better. Mr. Smith challenged me as a writer and as a student in general. I read that he talks down to students, which isn't true. He just keeps it real. Passing his class is possible for the determined. I'm thankful for all that he has taught me.

Mr. Smith taught me a lot. His class is hard but definitely can b done. I liked reading in his class, he teaches a lot of study methods that are now very helpful to me for other classes. He is a fair grader, very serious but the class was worth it. Read ahead and follow instructions. I got a C because it was summer n skipped a few assignments! :)
