If I could take this class again I would. The class is structured like so you watch a movie one class and the following class in the beginning is used to talk over the previous movie. The movies he chooses are always interesting and the 2-3 tests we took were easy as long as you paid attention to the films. Only used the book once for the final.

Excellent professor, all you do is watch a movie and discuss. There is no HW and your textbook is IMDB.com. There is a midterm and final, easy A if you watched all the movies. Great class, take if you need it.

Class was easy, you just watch movies (All of them were great), and there were 2 tests. The midterm had to be written, the final was MC but both were very easy. Only thing I didn't like was that he keeps track of lateness and after a couple, he'd want to make it into an absence.

This class is great esp. if u choose challenge urself. 6 interviews, the final one is of a celebrity. Dr. Brady is the kind of prof. that doesn't sugar coat the truth. Yes it's not as easy as it once was to break into a JOU career. But he reminds students that if they're serious and dedicated, they're highly capable. Take him! 1 of the best at STJ!

Wow. I cannot stress how boring this Professor is. Work-wise he is fine, 6 papers, that's it... no midterm, no final. Fair grader... just overall waste of class time. All he talks about is himself. 1 class worth of lessons... Easy but no learning.

THE BEST PROF AT ST. JOHN'S!! Extremely helpful; unbelievably knowledgeable. He's had such a successful career, starting from the bottom up, and gives you invaluable advice. Straightforward with the work, 8 papers, midterm and final. Show up to every class on time, do the work, and you'll do well. One of the nicest men on the planet. Take him!

Dr. Brady is one of the best professors I've had while majoring in journalism. The guy is experienced and is extremely clear. He's also a real nice person and understands that even though we're students, we have lives outside of the classroom that we must tend to. If you can get him, take him. He's one in a million.

Best class ever, hands down. Go to the city every day, take notes at all the awesome places you go to, and write a paper on your favorite one! You learn so much but it doesn't feel like it because it's so much fun. You're missing out BIG TIME if you don't take this class!

This was a cool course. Prof. Brady showed about 10 films, many sill in the theaters but not on DVD, and we had to see a few on our own. He gave quizzes, a final exam and a final paper. My favorite film was Match Point, followed by Babel. Take this course if you like movies.

This course proved to me I really want to be a writer/journalist. Interesting assignments such as following someone and observing them. Good feedback! He's a stickler for grammer, spelling, etc. We covered everything - not only getting the facts of a story, but experiencing it through all the senses. Warning: don't miss a class!

The most valuable thing about this class was the assignment to shadow someone in the field you want to enter, and then write an interview of that person. I made a contact! I'm sorry I didn't take this class when I was a freshman. I'm graduating.

By far my favorite professor at SJU. He teaches you so much and is always eager to help after class with anything. The class is great because it pushes you to do intriguing things that you would probably never do if you didn't register for the class. If you are a journalist major at SJU, you are totally missing out if you don't take Brady.

Incredible! An utterly intriguing man who inspires one to dig deeper than the shallow waters we're accustomed to. I would love to know what goes on in his beautiful mind. If he speaks with such conviction, it's because he knows what he's talking about, and if one of a distinguished caliber were challenged, he/she would remain afloat. Enlightening..

Much more interested in telling you what to think about the films than in having an open dialogue, but the class is still enjoyable.
