I've had BELCHEV and COOPER, i took cooper as precalc and dropped, i redid with belchev (A-). I took calc 1 with cooper (C+), am taking calc 2 with Belchev (~B). belchev is better, but alan isnt THAT bad

brilliant guy, persistance is key. He gave us a quiz and then handed it back unmarked and we marked it together in class as an honest thing. But he had already marked it secretly and used it to see if we would lie, LOL!! avoid if possible.

If you're planning on taking a math class and the only class you can get into is Allan Cooper's, please wait until the next semester. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. I failed his 1170 class, and retook the same class with Eugene Belchev and got an A-!!! The class avg for both our midterms in coopers class was a fail! avoid his class at all costs.

One thing, he writes tons of stuffs on the board, and he usually only explains about the key points. Midterms are not that hard if you put a lot of efforts to do the exercises. Finals is harder, study hard and don't forget to take note!

The only negative I can think of is his mid terms and finals are pretty hard. Class averages were low on both mid terms. But he is a really nice proffesor and willing to help you if you put in the effort and time to do your work.

terrible teacher, when asked a question, he can't even answer it properly!!!! UNORGANIZED! TERRIBLE MATERIAL! almost the whole class failed both midterms, so there was a third one. He never teaches what is on his tests, he just accepts us to know it. ADVICE: DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS, or drop it ASAP!!!!!!!

Better than average. He explains things well, but you will need to be self-motivated. Tests will be a little harder than you expect. Especially in Calculus 4, I wish he wouldn't race through the mechanics of new operators.
