He tries to be fun in lecture, but it just doesn't work. Read the notes, review definitions, and attend class.Tests aren't very difficult but he words questions to where you have to know exact terms. Skimming material will not earn an A.

Dr. Pickett is intelligible however lecture is long and dull. His over-use of senseless acronyms gets old very quick. DSS'es, ESS'es Wonk Wonk Wonk... Stick with memorizing keywords in the chapters and key factors of slides and you will be fine. Somethings are heavily over explained I felt. The material is spoon-fed to the peers. Show up = Pass!

Good professor, knows his stuff! Lectures can be boring, but that is what some 8 o'clock classes do to you. Read the chapters of the book. Tests are sometimes worded weird, but the questions are not that hard. Take notes and attend class. He seems to curve if you don't miss class. Made B's on tests and came out with an A. Didn't miss a class.

Interesting professor. Extremely boring class. He doesn't seem to understand how his students could possibly not be amazed at how a router works... Read the chapters.

Doesn't really know what he's talking about a lot of the time and relies on the fact that most of his students know less to push incorrect information on them. Frequently pontificates.

SO...INCREDIBLY...BORING. He told me I needed the updated book because technology changes so much in just 2 years. NOT TRUE. Just figure out what chapters from the old book relate to the new one. I made a B. Only have to study the definitions, read the end of chapter review, and glance over your notes. Curves big time if you show up to class.

This class is common sense. 3 Tests and 80 to 90 questions on each test. Just study the Vocabulary from book and make sure to study your notes to get better grades on test. Second test is all about video. Make sure to know all the names of people and what they founded. Final is hard. Good Luck! That's all folks!

This class is Ok. 3 tests and about 80 to 90 question on each test. 50 Mulitiple Choice which are mostly Vocublary and some of the questions he pulls from lectures. For true or false questions read chapters. For second test pay close attention to the videos because all of the true/false questions will be based on video you watched in class.

This class was VERY boring but its hard to make MIS lecture make you want to jump out of your seat. the test were somewhat easy just study the Definitions at the end of each chapter and try to follow along in class. He is helpful if you attend class. He creates a seating chart and does attendence that way

This class was stupid. Never opened the book, don't buy it. Just memorized the thousands of definitions for the test, get them from someone else. Got a 68, 78, and probably failed the final... and got a "B", CURVES MAJORLY! Don't worry at all in this class.

This is not a hard class, but is not very interesting. Mostly definitions, and about 25 true/false(tests are about 90?'s). overall the class was ok, but if you have to have it then i guess it doesn't really matter.

I dont know how he has a job...I mean its pretty pointless to have a class where the only thing you can do is just study definitions..93 questions on a test??? Am I in 4th grade??? Tcaps?? Anyways hes a very smug cat; loves the fact he knows material and you dont...You wont learn one thing in this class and like I said he needs to be jobless

Easy class. Dr. Pickett doesn't use much original material - def's from text. But the delivery is personable. Do as he says and study what he says to study - you'll do great. An "A" is not a difficult grade to make if you follow instructions well. He definitely is arrogant, but that comes from being head of the dep't.

He is very professional, and I really liked the class. He cares about his students, and I would love to have him again for a class. He made class fun, and all you have to do is study the terms in the text book, and you will ace the exams.

The class is straightforward--take notes, read the chapters, watch the videos. Tests aren't easy but if you study you'll make a good grade. Dr. Pickett obviously knows his stuff and made the class more interesting (to me) by explaining what each technology does in real life.

This class is very boring, dont take at 8am. Dr.Pickett has his querks, like being on time, but just show up. Tests are just definitions from the book. The tests are about 90 questions though. Take notes on videos, they are on the test.
