If you take a class from Lucia you might not get the A+ you were looking for but will gain an understanding of Economics. She is by far one of the best Econ teachers that the University has to offer. I would highly recommend taking the beginning classes with her, 201, 203, 301, 303, 357, 359.

The material isn't that bad, as long as you keep up with the classes. It's kind of interesting. The assignments were very difficult, however, the midterm and final were exactly the same as the tutorial questions. My advice would be to ask for help with the assignments and go to every tutorial and you'll be fine.

She seemed incredibly tough but I learned a lot in her class, I find myself referring to the notes I took in that class frequently. You don't need to buy the textbook (Varian) since her notes are basically copied from it, but it helps. Definitely go to class and stay on top of it. Assignments are tough, tests are fairly easy if you study.

The class itself was very interesting. However, there was a lot of material (not her fault), some of which were rushed over. Over all, the class wasn't too bad. Her assignments were definitely killer. In hindsight, the exams were not that hard, except she doesn't specify what she expects you to know so class averages were 60%.

This prof is great! She gives you heads up on things she`ll test you on, and berates you if you get those questions wrong on the midterm. She wants her students to succeed and does everything she can to help you. Class attendance isn`t mandatory but she makes the material interesting.

She was clear during her lectures and it is not necessarily important to attend them because she basically teaches us what is exactly in the textbook. However I do think she is a reasonable prof and her midterm and final is really fair. Her lectures are pretty dry and boring though, but it also may be because the material is not that interesting.

JOKE of a class. Lucia is a very boring, monotone professor. After the first 2 weeks, I couldn't stand her lectures anymore so I stopped going and taught myself the course. She doesn't go further than the textbook content anyways. Not a great prof from what I could tell. Wouldn't recommend her.

Horrible prof. Yelled at STUDENTS for the midterm marks being so low. She is NOT clear with her topics and thinks we should all know everything and basically we have to teach ourselves. Ended up dropping the course and going with another Econ prof.

She has a pretty thick accent, but you get used to it about halfway through the semester. Despite this, she is very clear and will constantly remind you of previous topics so that you do not get lost. Midterm was easy, final was very difficult. Also, make sure you listen to her instructions about handing in assignments, or else she won't accept.

Awesome prof! Accent is barely noticeable after going to her class for a week! Makes all concepts clear, cares for the well being of her students. Attending class isn't mandatory but will definitely help. Reading the textbook isn't necessary if you attend class. Really enjoyed her class.

I was a little bit alarmed going into her class after reading these comments, but I was surprised how good of a prof she was. She actually wants you to do well in this course, and wants to give you an A. She's a little stingy with practice exams, but is very helpful in and out of class. Go to class, stay up to date with aplia, you'll get an A.

I heard a lot of bad things about her from other students, but I thought she was a great prof. She said that her exams are much more difficult than other profs, but she teaches the material so well that they didn't seem difficult. Would definitely recommend her.

She was a good prof that encouraged class participation and made ECON 201 as interesting as she could. I was worried about her accent, but after one class, didn't even notice it. I'd recommend her. Go to class, read the textbook and you'll definitely get a good grade!

despite what others may say, I found her to be a very sweet woman who actually does her best to teach as clear and concise as possible. she has a thick accent, but once you get used to that you'll be fine. don't hate on her because econ is boring, is all I can say. all in all: good teacher, easy assignments

This isn't a very easy class. If you don't have much background in Finance you will probably struggle. The prof. marked tests very fairly. The prof. takes a bit getting used to because she has a thick accent and her sigmas look like r's and d's look like alphas's but once you get used to it it's alright. Should have had some assignments.
