Super nice guy!! Gave quizzes with study guides every week. Be sure to use them. Essay tests can be difficult. There is a lot of information. Quiz grades and some extra credit should help keep grades up. Highly recommend Dr. Scott for any classes you can get with him.

I wish I could take all of my history classes with Dr. Scott!! He is an awesome teacher. He is a wealth of knowledge and easy to listen to. He gives essay tests. Also gives quizzes every week that he gives study guides for...USE these and you will do really well on the quizzes.

Dr. Scott is the BEST History teacher I have ever had! His study guides are the quizzes and prepares you for your 3 test! You must go to class because you will miss a lot, but just read his small text book and you will do GREAT! I Got an A.

What a nice guy! He definitely cared about the material too, and was very clear about what his expectations were. He gives out study guides for the weekly reading quizzes, which are 1/3 of your grade. Go to class and take good notes, and you'll do great!

He was an amazing professor and you could tell he loves his work. He expects alot out of students, and gave quizzes weekly, but at least that kept students caught up on reading. The quiz questions came straight from the study guide! I loved this prof and would take him again and again!!! Great lectures, and great stories!!

I found that Dr. Scott was extraordinarily resourceful in the way that he taught Senior Seminar. He was very available, and also was very easy to work with. I found that we could disagree with him and he would listen to our arguments for or against what he had said. Very open minded and very old school teacher.

Dr. Scott is an awesome teacher. He is incredibly intelligent and has a passion to share all that he knows with his students. His class really gives you an insight into American history. He's very understanding and caring about his students. There are plenty of grades and extra-credit. You should have no problem getting an A in the class.

Dr. Scott was great. I really didn't care for history prior to the class, but he was so passionate about it that I actually got interested. He loves what he does and he cares about his students. It is a really hard class, but I'd say it's worth it. Be sure you take a lot of notes from his lectures!

Yes, he is knowledgeable, but he comes across as being arrogant, too, like his opinions are the only right ones. I don't like classes where I have to figure out how to "work" my angle and use specific sources or topics in a paper just to make the professor happy rather than following my own interests. I'm not impressed...

I'm not a fan of him-- he has written books on Cobb County and yes, he is a wealth of information, but he leaves little room for disagreement with him. He gives weekly quizzes that feel juvenile and I just did not like his class overall...

Oh, this wonderful man. I could listen to him for days. He is a walking wealth of information. I almost changed my major from English to History just to learn from him. When I saw that he and Dr. Yow were teaching an English/History class together I snatched that class up, it was amazing. He is a good teacher, excellent storyteller, and incredibly nice and approachable. On the last day of class 80% of the class stayed after it was over to listen to him finish a story. Now, how often does that happen?

For all the hype, I expected more than fluff class. Text is one he edited and quite boring. Injects his personal religious beliefs into class lectures. I learned more watching the History Channel. Easy class w/little effort.
