Has mid term and final that are each 1/3 of grade and 2 quizzes that are each 1/6. does not offer bonus and reads straight off the power points. lectures are boring but he really cares for his students. I'm not good at history and i barely got a B in the class

I was never liked history, nor was I good at history. Dr. Shealy made this class pretty enjoyable and fairly simple. There is no memorization of dates and he really emphasizes what needs to be studied for the quizzes and tests. He does mention the study abroad trip to Italy quite a bit, but thats because he is passionate about it.

Personally, I've never been too found of this period in history. Despite Shealy's good-nature, his test questions seem to all come from things you wouldn't think to study. This may be a caveat of my personal capabilities - I've never been too found of memorizing things. If you're okay with reading a ton to get by, this class is for you.

Professor Shealy is an amazing lecturer. All material you need to know are on powerpoints, but definitely show up to class because he will explain it more in detail. There are only 4 grades for the entire semester. He is one of the most caring professors I have ever had, and truly cares about his student's success. Willing to work with you to help.

Pretty good teacher. 3 tests (including the final) that are half multiple choice and half essay. if you pay attention and take notes in class and the online lectures, lets should be easy. textbook wasnt needed (personally) but if you dont go to class youll need it for notes. Very nice person, and his lectures weren't boring. hybrid course available

Pretty easy class! I am not the biggest fan of history but his class is pretty easy and interesting. I took him as a hybrid class and I would definitely recommend that to anyone. He does straightforward power points and the tests come directly from those notes. Every test has an essay but those aren't difficult either. If you can, TAKE HIM!!

Really easy World History class. Lectures are interesting and straightforward, and Shealy is pretty entertaining. I took this class for a hybrid, and he puts the powerpoints online for the online portion of the class. Tests are on D2L, and have a multiple choice portion and an essay portion. The final is just the last test in the class.

Shealy is a retired teacher who comes back to teach 1-2 classes a semester. Tests that are 30 MC and a short essay at the end. He tells you the subjects that you can choose from for the essays, so you can think ofwrite it the night before and memorize. He is talks A LOT about Montepulciano, Italy! We are pretty sure he had 3 mini strokes in class

Emmitt is a very nice guy. He is enthusiastic about history and you can tell by his teaching. He is very knowledgeable and will answer all of your questions, pretty easy to get him onto a tangent about specifics because he enjoys talking about it so much. Tests are straight forward and basically right from you notes. Shorts essay at the end of each

I love this guy! I took the 8 week class with 3 hour classes. Which, yes, was long and sometimes I wanted to fall asleep.. But I normally really do not like history AT ALL and he just put things in a way that is interesting and relates past history to current things to make it more understandable. 3 tests that are worth more, about 5 quizzes

Professor Shealy's class was a joy to take. He is very well educated but is not snobby. Very down to earth and always has a fun story or anecdote to go along with what we are learning. He will push the study abroad and he is the one who convinced me to pull the trigger on it. Hope to take again!

Really, really sweet professor. He's passionate about what he teaches and loves sharing his knowledge. The texts he assigned were interesting and all we did in class was discuss them. After each text, we wrote an opinionated paper about what we thought and how we liked it. Very easy class.

You are allowed to miss up to 2 days before he counts off on your grade. Overall, was an easy class and class was actually enjoyable. All the tests come from the power points. There are 3 multiple choice tests and 3 multiple choice with essays and that is all that makes up your grade. He is a nice professor and very approachable. Take him!!!

He is the best professor that I have had at KSU. He is willing to help whenever you need it, and he really cares about his students. His class is mandatory to attend, but that didn't matter to me because he made it enjoyable to attend. I HIGHLY recommend him. He is very passionate about history, and strives to see his students succeed.

His class was boring. Endless powerpoints posted on D2L, but attendance is mandatory. 3 scantron exams with essay, each 25% of grade. Remaining 25% is split between 3 scantron exams without essay. These are called exams, but are weighted as quizzes. 1. Browse reddit during class 2. Before the exam make a flashcard for every bulletpoint. 3. Get an A

I highly recommend taking Dr. Shealy's class. He is a wonderful professor, and he is very helpful with any questions you have. He responds to emails quickly and really wants his students to succeed. I had him in the Great Books Program this semester, and we didn't take any tests; we only wrote papers and had a final project. He was an easy grader.
