Comment:
This class has great discussions based on case studies relating to the larger conversation of religious diversity and inclusion. If you have basic time management skills, you should have no problem succeeding in this course. The quizzes are straightforward and easy if you read the materials. Would highly recommend Dr. Maguire to anyone.

The course content is interesting however most of your grade relies on quizzes. The quizzes are not through a typical Canvas set up. Prof. Maguire uses a ridiculous software that grades in a manner that makes no sense and is extremely difficult unless you meticulously read the text. Do yourself a favor and avoid her as an instructor for RELS 1200

It was such a joy to take a class with Dr. Maguire. I learned so much and I felt valued as a student. She consistently challenges students to think deeper about the material. She is worthy of every positive comment spoken about her.

Dr. Robinson is an amazing professor. She is one of the greatest professors that I have ever had. She asks questions to make you think deeper about the topics. Class is always spontaneous and she likes to experiment with different teaching methods. She is incredibly intelligent and helpful. Definitely take her if you have the chance!

Very nice professor. She provides lots of constructive criticism. She makes her expectations known. I felt like I knew her even though I only had her for an online course. Great teacher.

Love her. I'm about to take my third class with her. Classes are really not difficult at all. She likes sort of experimental teaching methods so she doesn't really lecture at all and she usually keeps classes pretty interesting. But i usually feel like i don't really learn anything so if you really wanna learn a lot, probably not the best choice

Very interesting discussions in class. Online readings and textbook used for discussions and online Moodle quizzes. No in-class tests except for a midterm essay and final essay. Also one project is due at the end of the term.

Awesome. That's all I can say. Pretty tough and challenging class, but in a good way. Really makes you think about things in a new way. Pay attention in class, do your assignments, participate in online discussion boards, and you'll be alright.

Had her for "Christian Controversies", easily one of my favorite college classes. She is smart, funny, patient, and very helpful. The class was very often a debate, and while things could have gotten out of hand, she kept everything under control. One of my favorite professors.

I made an A in this class, but it is the hardest A I have ever had to earn. No textbook required but you are expected to print out about 100 pages of primary documents/editorials. First half of semester consisted of Toulmin arguments/second half of concept maps. Very difficult to meet their expectations. Extra credit available. Attend. mandato

She is wonderful!! You will do in class discussions more than anything else. She doesn't do quizzes or anything just argument worksheets which aren't too tough. Just join the class discussions and do what you have to do and you will get an A.

Dr. Robinson utilized two methods to conceptulize our understanding of required readings. They were Toulmin Arguments and Concept Maps. These were completed outside of class. We did 7 of each. The toughness in grading increased with each. Final exam, we had group concept map and individual choice of 2 toulmin arguments or another concept map.

Her lectures were slides and we didnt use books. u could miss 4 days of class and not have your grade lowered at all. Seems like an easy class. However I got lazy and never went to class and missed a quiz and a paper and still expected 2 pass...go to class, do the hw and online journals and youll be fine. Fairly easy professor. jus have 2 work

She is AMAZING! She lectures, so be sure to take notes! That's where the test questions come from. Only a few papers assigned and a few tests. She doesn't care if you don't show up, b/c it's your grade. I never missed a class, during class she would make jokes as well to lighten the mood. If you get a chance take her for relgious studies!

She is very nice. But she is very hard. You need to read deeply into the articles. Pop quizzes are alomst impossible. Tests are worse. Don't take the class.

Dr. Robinson is interesting.. The only thing I didnt didn't like were her quizzes because I never knew what to expect on them (they're pop quizzes). Also, for homework every night, she posts articles (anywhere from 2-7 pages)on blackboard for us to print out, read, study and discuss the next class...i went through 2 ink cartridges in one semester!

Great teacher if you like to think and are interested in philosophy/religion. I had a blast in class and loved examining the material. Read the sources (usually classic works or editorials) before class tests and you should do fine on tests and quizzes. Participate in class discussion too and you will get an A or B.
