NOTE: I took this course during COVID-19. Very good prof and super available. I took this class with 3 years of french and it was fairly easy. I would rec that you study hard if you are new to french bc this course was fast-paced. But Prof. Marcoux was always available and super helpful. Plus, you can retake most assignments for full credit.

Dr. Marcoux is the best professor I've ever had! She obviously cares about her subject, she is very engaging and interesting. I've had her for both French 111 and 112 and the work does get progressively harder, but as long as you pay attention in class, you will be able to get an A on the tests.

Dr. Marcoux is amazing -- such detailed feedback, and super sweet. Everything except for a few major tests can be taken again until you get 100% so if you take advantage of that it's a pretty easy A. The one thing that I didn't love was that MyFrenchLabs, which she uses for the textbook and homework, is quite expensive. Overall great though!

super sweet and caring, funny, entertaining. she'll tell it like it is, and there is a lot of hw. she is very merciful with late work and holding off on grading, but when she does grade it's true to how she said it'd be done. emails back quickly, and goes out of her way to make sure her students do well. had her 3 semesters love her lots and lots

I took this class as preparation for going to french school for several weeks in France this summer. The class is very well structured and I learned a lot. In fact, I was so prepared that the French school moved me up a level after only one week of being there. They were very impressed with all that I had learned already at CPCC! Highly recommend!

Ms. Marcoux's classroom was one of the most comfortable and encouraging environments of my student life at CPCC. She made what seemed to be abstract and elusive concepts clear and graspable while constantly asking her students for feedback on her methods. Professor Marcoux is energetic and clearly loves to teach. She is kind, patient and extremely helpful. She makes the class fun (which is not an easy thing to do at 8:00 in the morning). I had failed SPA 111 the previous semester and was nervous about taking it again. She made me believe I could do it and helped me get there.

Levine Campus. The Best Professor. She loves to teach. Very easy to approach. Very caring and understanding. She understands the day to day struggles of life. Great teaching method. She is a great teacher! She's very open and has a great sense of humor. She understands college student have other things going on besides school and she will work with you to help you pass. But seriously, you can't fail this class unless your extremely lazy because there are quite a few lab works.
