His lectures were horrible teach yourself from the book. His use of the text was weak. He skipped and only covered pieces of certain sections. so it hard to know what to read. we made him post the section that he covered in class and that is what I studied. Participate even if it wrong he my grade jumped to a b+ because of participation

Comment:
Attendance is not mandatory. However, it helps to show up because the tests are only 4 questions each and those questions usually come up during class. Otherwise, study thoroughly before each test and you should do fine. Also, slight curves are given to those who participate.

He didn't cover a lot of material, and he gets off-topic really easy. Attendance is not mandatory, but show up to know what he goes over. Tests are really easy if you truly know the material. Try to participate in class for some bonus points. By participate, I mean ask good questions and offer good solutions to the homework problems.

Awesome professor and very deep knowledge of discrete mathematics. He really brings computer science and mathematics together. He is captivated by the major figures in math and science, and he loves finding out more about artificial intelligence. Be ready for engaging in discussion about material to be covered, because he loves participation.

Dr. F is a wonderful prof. He is extremely interested in teaching you discrete math and encourages and rewards participation (which is also a great way to get a slightly better grade). Like other posters have said he LOVES to digress and ramble, so you have to work to keep him lecturing, and he loves talking about Watston, Chomsky, and Penrose.

Discrete math. Dr. Fajtlowicz loves when you participate in class. If he knows your name then you'll probably get bumped up a grade. His tests are straight-forward and come directly from what is covered in class. He rambles a lot, so you don't end up covering too much, and he's obsessed with IBM's Watson. All that aside, he's a decent prof.

He doesn't explain stuffs with the most clarity (meaning = he kinda sucks at explaining stuffs). If you read the textbook and understand it, then you will do fine. You don't necessarily have to go to class to pass. I got a B+ and misssed about one-third of the classes.

The professor speaks with a accent but you get use to it after a month. The book wasnt used much but i HIGHLY recommend you read the definitions and terms before the tests. it helps alot. professor does curve ALOT. and participation (asking questions, answering questions, etc) helps your curve.
