Comment:
His lectures were not useful for the exams. All the material is from the textbook. This class involves self-teaching and writing notes on the textbook. The group projects were marked ambiguously.

Comment:
The professor kinda teaches nothing but only tells his life stories on the class. You have to remember the whole book of concepts by yourself, and there will be no curve in the final. Also, getting A or A- on group presentations isn't going to be helpful for your grade.

Comment:
Prof Soroka genuinely cares about his students and wants them to do well! He also is really entertaining and his lectures were always enjoyable. However, Prof Soroka doesn't prepare his students well for the final since most of his lectures are based on personal experience and not the textbook material.

Comment:
Professor Soroka has some good stories to tell with his lawyer background. Problem is, in the way he teaches his course, he is rendered useless. Do the projects as best you can with the group you have and study as you can for the final in hopes of getting a good grade. Overall the teacher has no real impact on your grade.

Comment:
Either you'll love Prof Soroka, or you'll hate him. Lectures are him just reading the powerpoints and talking about his past experiences. The midterms are not overly difficult if you've read the textbook. His grading criteria is very unclear, which makes the group project difficult. The course content is interesting if you're a marketing major.

Typical fake-nice professor. Interesting speeches in class, somewhat inspirational. However, you won't know on what grounds he grades you and will mostly likely end up being frustrated with your grade. He uses his experience to grade you and gives very limited feedback. There are much better marketing professors out there.

Loved this professor! He genuinely cares about his students, answers emails very quickly, and gives a lot of advicehelp in terms of picking your career and reaching your end goals. The kind of prof who wants you to succeed outside the classroom as well. He's a fair grader, material's very interesting, and you can get straight As if you put effort!

Good prof. With his broad professional background, gives students a realistic insight of the marketing world outside school. Always available, knows when you're BS-ing him or not and not that hard of a grader - rewards hard work.

Prof Soroka is incredibly well informed, knowledgeable, and highly competent. He runs a tight ship, but demonstrates a strong commitment to his students, and is extremely compassionate. He is definitely not easy, but this is exactly what we needed before moving onto the "real world." There was no one better equipped to handle Marketing Planning.

Excellent course and professor. Course ties in material from all marketing classes into an integrative curriculum. Professor Soroka is friendly, approachable, an expert on the subject, and also entertaining. Moreover, he is a rare teacher in the sense that he actually cares about his students. You will learn a great deal. Strongly recommended!!

There is a very good reason why Prof Soroka was awarded the 2009 Prof of the Year: he is the best! I had heard about this guy, how he speaks crystal clear, how he makes marketing apply to the real world, how he cares about his students, availability...I couldn't believe it...until I took his course. ABSOLUTE BEST AT MCGILL! Rock on, Soroka!!

i dont really know how to rate him!!He is a very nice person , experienced, has a sense of humour .But,his classes are confusing. planning was a case class so basically nothing to study , no power point but u still have to read the cases. His grading is very unclear ,no comments are made on the exam cases so you dont really know what u did wrong !

Want to learn about the real world? Take Soroka, no matter what course he teaches. MARK 357 is a case course...no better preparation for the real world. Soroka worked in industry, and uses his experiences to make the course a platform for whatever awaits after graduation... And he cares!

Had Mr. Soroka for Marketing Planning 1. Truly one of the greatest professors! Fantastic! Textbook bad, final project a bid fuzzy, but nonetheless - Soroka was great. Keep it up Soroka!
