Good grasp of criticism and class discussion. He's highly intelligent and caring. He lets students explore their own topics and theories, but will constructively tell you if your approach or thought process isn't strong or correct. He's a fairly tough grader, but will do his best to help you.

Comment:
Professor Floyd is a great professor. He opens up a lot of interesting discussions on the material, but he isn't afraid to tell you that your ideas are wrong (in a constructive way). He also isn't too tough of a grader. Overall, I thought he was a funny guy who was a little too infatuated with Lolita, and I would gladly take him again.

Comment:
Floyd is highly intelligent and caring. He knows a lot about the books we read; to be honest, some were truly terrible but the way he thought about them made the whole thing not so bad. He gives really good advice for papers and in turn expects only your best. You'll work for a good grade, but he will definitely not let you fail. Amazing!

Had Kevin for LGBT: Critical Perspechives, US Lit after 1945, and Critical Theory. Shows respect for students, will provide as much help as you ask for, is not a hard grader, but you have to really understand all the reading to get an A. Will talk to you like a friend instead of like a superior. May take your class to a bar.

Kevin is a great professor. I'm taking one of his classes next sememster. His in depth analysis and his way of forcing his students to think critically is such a key in literature. I've never written better papers in my life. Wow, did I love this class!!!!

Floyd is an extremely difficult professor, but extremely knowledgable...and nice to look at. He's a really good teacher, but he would be a really great teacher if he cared about teaching half as much as his own research. But, that's the field of English--it is what it is.
