don't forget to do the paper because he will take points from all your tests. Very old style of teaching so if you don't like learning on your own don't take him. Nice guy but not a great professor especially online

Lectures were tedious, not engaging, and hard to follow. The professor doesn't know how to use zoom very well. Your grade consists of 3 exams and one extremely complicated paper. Textbook is optional and study guide gives many test answers. No Proctorio for exams but this was one of the most frustrating classes ever.

Prof. Navarick means well but do not take him :( He's very old school at teaching. This class is difficult and unfortunately taking it with this prof. didn't help. He's always available to help but his lectures are ehh. (3) tests and (1) paper. He's actually really helpful on the paper and has clear instructions. If you take him, good luck.

Prof. Navarick gives over half of the exam questions on the study guides, so as long as you find the answers and understand the concepts, you'll be fine. He also gives step-by-step instructions for how to write the required paper and will review your draft if you go to office hours. No bells and whistles here, but he gives you all you need to pass.

He wasn't terrible, he is just an older man who speaks very quietly and tends to ramble. His slides can be all over the place. If you have to take him, focus all of your best efforts on the paper. That's what saved my grade. The second half of the semester was online, which made attending worse. Try to take a different prof for this complex subject

Dr. Navarick was an okay professor. There is one required paper and three exams. He offers extra credit on the paper and the exams, which was very nice. It was difficult showing up to class because I was bored:/ had to go online due to COVID, so it was even harder to pay attention. Only would take again because his class fit best with my schedule.

This is college, and the bad reviews are from the people who didn't put in the work. Honestly, do the study guides, email him for review and you basically have more than half the answers for the tests. 4 tests, 3 are open notes, 1 is not. No final. Your grade is based on the tests and your research participation. Easy A if you put in the work.

This class was a joke. The AC is louder than his voice even if you sit in the front, you still cant hear him! Theres no hw, just reading, notes, and a study guide for the 4 exams. If you are an independent learner, I guess he's the one. But if you are the type who needs motivation and visual learning, he is not it! I skipped for 2 months yikes

His lectures are very boring and I dreaded sitting through class. It's not mandatory to go to class and as long as you complete the study guides and read, you should be fine. The study guide answers are all mostly from the book, some are from lectures but lectures are posted online as well. If you need help on study guides email him or go to o.h

He means well & enjoys his occupation. But, he is too old school and his lectures were sorta boring. I skipped a lot of class and mostly showed up on exam days and still received an A. The exams are all open book except for one. He makes you write an essay but it is used as extra credit points. All in all if you want a class you can skip this is it

I had no motivation to go to this class. It is hard to hear him when he teaches, and his lectures are super dry and boring. There is no humor to this class at all. I stopped showing up to class and taught myself. However, he does do random attendance.

The wisest and oldest professor at CSUF. Very intelligent, but his teaching style is not for all. Overall, this is college, no one can hold you hand all the way. So yes, there are times where you have to go the extra mile and do it all yourself with no help, but he is there to facilitate it. Class is very interesting and exams are easy

class is 4 exams and a mandatory paper that counts for extra credit. Honestly after the first week you don't have to show up even though I did. Just download all of his lectures and do the study guides and you'll at least get a C in the class. Content of lecture is interesting sometimes but delivery is very dull and difficult to follow.

The class:3 exams 1 paper The extra credit: random attendance, turning in the essay draft , turning in the essay early, 2-3 bonus questions on test. He gives study guides that are VERY helpful with the test. Read the review powerpoint FIRST and study it, and then fill in the study guide. Show up to class. Turn everything in(early) Doable.

Dr. Navarick's class was horrible. I do not recommend this class to anyone-his lectures were boring, the tests were extremely difficult, and he is not very easy to talk to.

Pretty much all the reviews summed him up. He's a nice guy but his lectures are very dry. 3 tests and one really challenging paper. He let's you turn in a draft to make sure you get a good grade on it. This class is doable but definitely not enjoyable. Definitely recommend taking another professor before considering his class.

I feel like the psyc 101 reviews are from lazy students who were expecting to show up and get an A. Someone in the class got a 12 out of 35 on the first exam even though his study guide has all the answers minus 15. There is no reason you should get those questions wrong if you go to office hours to go over the study guide.

The most BORING lectures ever. Literally you could stare at a wall and be more entertained. Half the time I would just show up and teach myself the material. Grade is based on just 3 exams and 1 paper. Exams are semi-easy. They're 35 questions and the study guide has 21 of them... plus two extra credit questions. Boring lectures but easy class.

He gives out a study guide that has all the questions on the exam minus 15 of them. If you did the study guide, you'd only need to look up 15 questions and all are MC. Go to office hours and run the study guide by him or by email to make sure you were right. Just put in extra effort for the one exam that is not open notes and you'll get an A.
