This class was a nightmare. Did not have a schedule for his lectures and started posting them two weeks late. Returned papers months later. Never answered emails and if he did it was way too late or gave false information. Content was poorly explained. No due dates in syllabus and gave papers with a day to complete. Received our final very late.

Posted lectures very inconsistently. Started class weeks late both semesters. Took ages to return our papers. Rarely responded to emails. Does not explain content well. Gave us our final two days late. Due dates not posted in syllabus, and he would only let us know a few days in advance. Seems like a nice guy but had lots of technical issues.

Everyone seems to be trashing on this Professor but he is honestly a really caring guy. Yes lectures may be a little difficult but if you actually take the time to talk to him he's super generous! Missed 5 weeks due to mental illness and he let me hand in 10 page paper 3 weeks late! Very work-heavy class though, lots of papers and material.

He teaches a boring subject, but he's all around a cool guy. He gives notice for quizzes - but they're MC, T/F, and short answer, so basically small percentage midterms. If you have sort of a clue what's going on, you should be good.

Comment:
- Lectures extremely dry - Quizzes are like midterms (content heavy), not enough time to finish all of it - Extremely tough grader (one of the toughest I had so far) - Lost track of the syllabus, so we ended off doing less then initially assigned/this did not help btw - If you want a good mark, avoid his classes at all cost (You've been warned)

Michael knows what he's talking about but his lectures are pretty dry. He basically puts a word document up on the screen and reads from it while you copy. His quizzes are quite difficult but he hands them back and they become really useful study tools. Very logical guy and uses his logic to give (lots of) good feedback on papers.

Great during lectures and the mandatory meetings, but an insane amount of work for a first year class. 6 papers, multiple tests, writing assignments, and hard essay final. Great guy though.

Great professor, he does care about his students and takes time to schedule meetings with students to discuss their papers outside of class time. Lectures and content was very engaging and interesting. Tough grader but rightfully so. Would take again.

Avoid at all costs. One day's notice of tests, less than a week for papers, multiple assignments due the same day. Interesting class but unrealistic expectations. Insane workload!!

Hands down the worst professor I have ever had. His work load is insane for a 100 level. I'd rather take a course with an instructor who has English as a second language than take any of his classes ever again.

Incredibly heavy workload for a 100-level class (5 papers, several quizzes, 3 exams in addition to the final, as well as 4+ mandatory seminars outside of class time). Mr. Poellet has moments as a strong professor, particularly during one-on-one discussion, but those moments are too few. Lectures are monotonous and unclear. Extremely tough grader.

Hard class, tons of reading, expect to write a few essays, fair marker and discusses with you after! Super thorough class with a ton of information being pumped out. All in all great prof and class - Philosophy just wasn't my thing.

I took 110.. worst prof i have had in my 3 years of university (counting online classes). He didn't seem interested in helping students out in any way & marked ridiculously hard on assignments. Midterm was cut short bc he was late & did not give extra time (had to write 3 essays in 45 min). DO NOT take this class if you want a good mark.

This prof is different to say the least. I found his lectures interesting but it was sometimes difficult to take notes. His reviews of the previous lecture at the start of class were really helpful. You need to put in effort to do well and understand the material, but it's not impossible.

I had this prof for biomedical ethics. DO NOT take this class if you want a good mark. In a class full of pre-med students the highest mark was 81. He claimed that an 85% paper would be publishable. was disorganized and fell behind early in the term. After the final I set up times with him to pick up my papers and he didn't show.VERY unprofessional

enjoyed his class. very helpful when it came to assignments. not the easiest marker, but you will leave the class knowing your stuff. if you actually go to the class you'll get an 80+ easy.

This professor is one of the most interesting I have had. If you attend class and take notes then the material is not hard to understand. It is a mind bending course (Phil 110) which Poellet teaches extraordinarily well. I would take the course again if I could... It completely changed my outlook on the world and the previous assumptions I had.

Comment:
He is not an unfair prof, but he is aiming to challenge you to think at a higher level. He is a prof that can change the way you view the world and that is reason enough to take his classes.
