I was in his class for one day and fell asleep three times. Doesn't know what he's talking about, refuses to use Canvas, requires hard copies for most assignments. Textbook isn't required, so don't waste your money. Easy 'A' if you are willing to put up with him.

The information taught in class was too basic and the tests didn't make sense at all, tough, You'll need to save your assignments in case he loses them, will take months to grade your assignments. Overall good guy, very friendly, older. He will help and make arrangements if you need it. Take his class if you have a lot of patience.

Older guy, needs to be reminded to do a few things, save your homework just in case he loses it, you can print it off again and hopefully it gets graded by the end of the semester. He is very helpful during tests, the tests are tricky sometimes and he'll end up doing the question for you. He's very cooperative.

Go ahead, take this class. You will learn information from 10 years ago. It will teach you terrible habits that have nothing to do with todays Internet programming. He can't even grade assignments and tests correctly. If you don't check HIS work you will not get the score you deserve. You will also fall asleep. Easy A though

He is a great guy easy going and funny, but most of what he teaches is out of date, confusing, and extremely repetitive. He constantly gives conflicting instructions on how to complete and submit assignments. The tests are ridiculous in that they have nothing to do with what is taught in class. Be prepared to do a lot of self-help.

The professor is really nice and he uses powerpoints and the book for the weekly quizzes. Overall this was an easy class the lectures were a bit boring but the instructor is willing to work with you if you get behind on the projects.

Really easy class, just the basics of computer use and Microsoft Office 2007. Lots of busy work, but it's all straight from the book. Phil will work individually with you and he is such a sweet guy.

Phil is a nice guy & is flexible, but honestly, one of the worst instructors I've had. The material is so irrelevant to today it's absurd, assignments are just busy work & tests are pointless & more difficult than needed. Behind the times with tech. Way too much internet history. Boring, dry lectures. Seriously-avoid this instructor if possible.

Sadly, I would say that nothing useful was given from this class. The beginning of 1430 looked like it was going be easy as pie, but turned out to be something it was not. After telling students that it would be a easy class at the beginning, the end turned out to be a situation, where nearly every student was concerned for their grade.

This is the worst professor I have ever had. We learned techniques that were current ten years ago. We spent weeks learning useless trivia before we even started coding a single page of html. One of our busy work assignments was all about how to use Google! What a joke. Don't ever take a class from Phil. He is not a motivated teacher.

This teacher was useless. The spent way too much time on history, when it came to teaching about Javascript, it was more like spaghetti thrown at the wall. Buy the textbook and within the first three tutorials, you learn everything that was learned in class. Save yourself a semester.

This class was a complete waste of a semester. This guy is so behind the times he was teaching us to use code that is depreciated and no longer in use. Students would complain that the info he was teaching is outdated and he would just say he'd get to the good stuff later on but he NEVER got to anything good. All useless info with horrible tests

The 1st four weeks of class were really boring, some history is ok but he really dragged it on and on. I like his style of teaching HTML and was able to understand a lot, but his tests aren't very good. Overall the class is sort of fun but the HW has a lot of busy work. Fairly easy class though, I think I will get a high grade in it.

To be clear, he is a good person, he is an OK teacher, but he has some bugs just like the computers. I took the one and only available computer OS class that was available and I did everything including the extra credit project and I was certain I got for sure B+ if not better. Well since I haven't checked my grade in a year, I found out he gave me

Really nice guy. He has the best of intentions but I'm not sure he's perfectly suited for teaching. I knew HTML before taking the class so i don't really need help usually... but google is better equipped than him. Still, very nice guy and willing to help!

Hard to understand, because there wasn't hands on work to learn about computer use.
