Comment:
She's a great person but is not a good professor. Her instructions are unclear. Lectures are long and she hovers around behind you if you're on a computer/tablet. The class itself was easy, the grade was based on participation and a portfolio of three assignments handed in together (worked with a struggling reader).

I wanted to like her... but in the end I couldn't. Didn't receive any of the assignments back except 1 of them, assignments weren't gone over until they were due leading to unclear expectations, final marks were not given until 1.5 months after the class. would get our class confused w others and repeat herself. would go on & on but rarely relevant

Out of touch and unbelievably unclear. Can't possibly express how bad this class was.

She is very knowledgable and passionate about the topic of literacy. She is so passionate about the topic however, that she completely discredits anyone who disagrees with her. Marks easy on assignments (85-100%) for everyone. Marked extremely hard on the final, final grades dropping 10-15%.

Linda is definitely well educated in children's literature but she is not a good teacher of it. She spends most classes babbling about her grand kids, reading us several picture books, and refusing to teach us programs used in the classroom (PWIM, fountas and panel, etc.) because "I don't like it." Constantly changes assignment criteriadue dates

Eccentric, but knows how to teach kids to read. If you see no use in taking her class then you have no interest in or understanding of how kids read.

Terrific Prof. Extremely knowledgeable. A bit of work but it's mostly busy work- not very difficult just time consuming. A great person, I am taking another class with her and highly recommend her. Plus you get a class party which is super cool

I did not enjoy this class. We didn't learn anything, but still had a lot of work due at the end of every month. Don't bother taking notes in class: the final has nothing to do with the first 2 and a half months of the course.

totally useless class! upsetting that we are paying money to listen to her blab about her grandchildren, how well off and educated she is. learned absolutely nothing about oracy and literacy. she expects you to complete a lot of assignments that are tedious and worth a small amount of marks. Can we learn something relevant please!

These people obviously don't appreciate when they have a great professor! She is outstanding, knows all there is to know about her material, and is a crazy easy marker if you do the assignments. She is a bit extravegant(Sp?) at times, but has a passion for literacy and the students learning about it...

Prof structured course so that the assingments that had to be done could be used to teach in a classroom later on in our careers. This not only saves alot of time for teachers later on in their careers, but makes the class more meaningful.

She is so extremely smart, and knows so much about children and literacy, but my god woman, please teach us something we can use (some strategies or methods)instead of just reading childrens books. Don't get me wrong, knowing children's lit. is so very important, but if that is all you do, c'mon.

She is an absolutely horrible, arrogant woman. She's not interested in disseminating information ... this is simply an opportunity for her to be the center of attention. She has nothing of value to say, she has no grasp of the topic, and you will learn nothing from her.

Comment:
Rather than a course on Literacy, this is a course on gaining an understanding of our Prof's extravagant lifestyle. It was entertaing at first, but becomes very annoying.
