Comment:
The classes concepts were easy to grasp. Easy A if you actually try. Couple projects throughout the semester. More of a conceptual class rather than a coding class so the projects were difficult at times. Basically, you need to go up to him for help because he's there to guide you and not give you the answers. Boring lectures. Nice old man.

Never seemed prepared to lecture. Wasn't really prepared to answer questions about hw because he "hasn't looked at it yet". Whenever there were questions about the hw or projects, he would only know the gist of it and not in-depth. Prepare to learn from only the textbook. Students will probably need more c++ practice before taking this course.

Software standards class that i took with him is a theory subject so cant blame him for boring classes. He tried his best to make the class intresting. Very easy grader. Only 3 assignments. Lengthy essay type exams. 1 or 2 days of prep before exam will easily get you a B, even A if you can remember the pointers.

This professor comes from the working world, rather than academia. Because of this, you'll learn a lot of useful information, more than those locked in the ivory tower. His use of examples clarify topics and concepts. Essay-styled tests require a solid understanding of the material Select this instructor, you can't go wrong.

Excellent instructor who can turn his wealth of industry knowledge into a learning format. Clearly illustrated theory by drawing parallels from his experience. Essay-based tests are well-design to test your knowledge of the topics covered. The class project took a lot of time, but was not difficult. Applicable class for the s/w industry.

Make sure to copy his lecture word by word. Long essay type exams. Have to write down whatever he said in his lecture, if miss one word--> miss one point. Fair grader. Lectures are boring but very informative if you don't fall sleep. I recommend him for Software Eng. On the project, make sure to ask him questions if not clear to you. He's helpful.

Never, ever have I seen more typos than in his class, and he teaches a subject devoted to preciscion! It's a big deal on tests where one character changes the meaning of the code. Further, he's boring and the students that do need help have to jump through hoops to get it. If you know your stuff, he's not too bad though.

This guy just sucks. Seriously I mean he is highly uncler and he grades tough. He expects something that he never tells. I think he's just too old to teach

I would say he is very easy in homeworks (for graduate students who have to submit a report he gives full points)But the bad thing about him is,he expects you to remember the whole Textbook. He basically looks for keywords in your answerbook.Very strict in correction and marks off points for silly mistakes. Not very clear about the Exams.

This is not a class, its a self learning expedition. There is no test, no final, no hw, and no lecture. Everything is base on projects. Two projects are assign at the same time [java and javascript] JAVA = if you **** up, he'll make you redue it until its perfect. JAVASCRIPT = if you get 75% of it done, you get full credit

Don't even think about missing a single class, because this professor keeps track of attendance. Then since his tests are essay questions, and are very subjective, he will slam you for missing his class by finding reasons to mark you down. Also, boring as hell to listen... Don't even bother w/him!

Good luck avoiding this guy but try to do so anyway. He is as boring as they come and you will learn almost nothing in his class. Only good news is that 40% is normally a C. I didn't do any projects, little homework, ditched and came away passing easily both times.

he knows the stuff enough to teach the class, but no recent industry experience. do ALL the homework and study alot for the exams. the types of questions he asks dont really reflect your understanding of the material. hes really quite lame, avoid if possible. oh, and hes a tedious lecturer.

Very knowledgable, be prepared for super lame jokes. All around a good teacher just a little dull. Class moves at a resonable pace and assignments are a bit vague but he is eager to help.

He seems to know quite a bit about OS. Be prepare to deal with things other than OS. Grading is impossible and discourage to students. Your grade are assigned, not earn. Homeworks are never return. Ans to quest aren't fulfilling. He's still teach :<
