Dr. G has a stern disposition but really means well if you show commitment to his class. I had him for Con Law and Personnel Mgt (GRAD). As far as advice, it is a no-brainer; READ THE SYLLABUS carefully, participate in discussions, & submit good quality assignments timely. Good luck and be prepared to do some real learning!! It is school after all.

Having tenure has made him complacent with not updating teaching methods or materials. You will get an arbitrary grade based on how he "feels" you did versus what you may actually have done. Has very high standards few can meet. Personality not friendly and has strong opinions (don't disagree unless you want a bad grade). The GAs grade everything

He's a nice guy but not a good teacher. He's very 'old school' and not very clear on what is expected of his students. Overall his classes are somewhat enjoyable but do't follow any sort of logic: they're all over the place. I didn't learn anything new

I didn't like this class at all. maybe it's because you never really knew what he wanted. he was a great person but not a good professor. the discussions were always good though. participate though!!!! i personally didn't learn anything and my classmates didn't either. we just wanted to be done with the course.

Professor Gangi is a wonderful professor! Very clear on his lectures and involves the class in them. Has us get into groups so we can understand readings better through one another. Definitely taking him for the other government class he teaches my junior year! Just make sure you do the homework in his class and study for the midterm and exam.

If you are planning on going to law school, this class is a must take. It takes hard work but if you are willing to work you will learn a lot, especially if you have an interest in Con Law. Dr Gangi presents a very different approach to Con Law than is currently supported by the Supreme Court, and it is very interesting and convincing.

Constitution Law in itself is a very hard subject. Gangi may make it seem even harder. No assignments what so ever, only Midterm and Final, with about 90 Case briefs at the end of the course. He is not helpfully, but is a great teacher, super hard class, but worth it!

He is brilliant in all aspects of education and some areas of government. His work can be intimifdating but just make sure to study the terms on the tests and finish all of the levines. He is very reasonable and will accept late work and encourages class and group discussion. Take him.

I MUST SAU THIS PROFESSOR IS THE WORST GOVERNMENT PROFESSOR. LIKE HE RAMBLES AND RAMBLES ABOUT STUFF THAT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. IF YOU CAN AVOID HIM UNTIL YOU HAVE TO TAKE CONSTITUTIONAL LAW THEN DO. BECAUSE YOU WILL LEARN NOTHING BESIDES HIS THEORIES ON THE CURRENT GOVERNMENT.

HORRIBLE PROFESSOR for grad program. Stay away at all cost. He is vague about assignments, never gave the students any idea what the class was about, curses like there is no tomorrow, and dresses like a football coach straight out of a tough neighborhood in Brooklyn. He is probably one of the reasons I want to transfer to another school...St. John'

Gangi is extremely bright, and loves students who engage. He may seem confusing, but its essential that you take him if youre a continuing Gov& Politics major. He's not as hard as he is said to be, just make sure you have your work in on time. He's flexible at changing grades as well !

Really a great class, even in online form. He makes students work hard but our analytical and writing skills are greatly improved by the end of the course. He forces us to think. He is crystal clear in his expectations, mostly because he is a very good writer. That said, I still don't understand that Kendall textbook which he really emphasizes.

This is a extremely difficult class. He covers about 25 cases per class and expects you to know every detail about the case. The MidTerm and Final are very hard and require writing 4 essays + 15 IDs. Also read the Kendall book the first week he bases like 50% of the course on the book. If you put a lot of work in it is worth it and you learn a lot.

Great professor. I look at con law in a very different light. It was a tough few months, as he expects for you to put your best foot forward. But his classes are worth the hard work. Take him! If you are serious about your major, take him.

i'm a senior history major, so I'm used to doing nothing but essays and long writing on tests. That said, his midterm was ID 15 court cases, and 3 essays, all in an hour and a half. first test at SJU that i didnt get to finish. there was also no review at all for the test. he's smart and knows his stuff (to an extent), but not a good teacher.
