Dr. Le Veness is a great professor. I strongly recommend to take any of his classes if you have the chance. 3 papers (including the final), an oral report, and participation your grade. He lectures the whole class but his jokes will keep you engaged: he called my entire class hopeless when we didnt know the answer to a question. Just take him!

Dr. LeVeness is a gem! He realizes your effort and shows that in grading. Do your best, communicate with him, and read what he assigns. He's extremely helpful with the term paper. Show him what you're up to, and he's more than happy to guide you. He has long lectures, but his jokes and your participation break it up. 100% will take again.

Dr. LeVeness is a very funny guy and good speaker. He knows how to keep you engaged even though he talks for the whole class. He is very serious about the research papers citations and sources you use. As long as you read some of the material and jot down important points from his lectures, you should be fine. I would definitely take him again.

Do not judge this class by its name. "Politics of War" sounds interesting right? WRONG. The professor would sit and lecture the entire class. Most of his lectures are unrelated to the class. You have to read three books and write two 10 page essays which he grades very harshly. It's in your best interest not to take him!

Good professor and really funny. I took him for Politics of War and Politics of the Caribbean. I got an A in both but Politics of War was hard and you have to teach yourself sometimes. He takes citations and Works Cited very seriously. It needs to be good primary sources, or else you will not do good.

I took Dr. Le Veness for 5 courses, which is tough because he only teaches in Queens in the spring. He always teaches study abroad in the fall. It was frightening my first day, he pointed at me and had me answer a question I did not know the answer to, but I was hooked. He called us losers, but he was quick to call himself one too. Best Prof ever.

This is the kind of class that you don't need to attend to pass. Professor is funny and can be entertaining, but his lectures are pointless and off topic. Your grade will be based off of two 10 page papers and in class essay questions for the midterm and final. Hard grader. You really have to teach yourself in this class. All based on readings

Def must take if you are a Gov major. Great guy! Two 10 page pages, a Midterm, & a Final for the class. You don't NEED to read. Going to all lectures and skimming readings got me an A-. Although he was a pain for the papers. If the paper does not have correct citations he will not look at it. There are make ups and re-submissions though. - GOV3670

Best professor in my entire graduate school experience.(Class of '95) You will be expected to read the text(the exams are entirely on the text) so don't slack off and just take lecture notes. Innovative, fair and a definite must for all government or Pol Sci majors.

Dr. Le Veness is a classic! He is simply amazing. His course consists of a take home midterm paper, a take home final exam, and an in class group presentation. He is very fair and quite easy if you show up to class and do the readings. Everyone loves him, he is very helpful, outgoing, informative, clear, and there for you. I would take again!

A really cool guy, jokes around and easy to talk to and asks a lot of questions to the class while lecturing. He's very clear about what to expect on papers, midterm, final. I was really stressed out about the first paper i wrote for him (10 pgs) but he gave me a great grade.

If you are a government major you have to take him at least once! He is an excellent teacher, and really takes the time to get to know the students. His tests focus on the readings more than class discussion so remember that when it comes to test! Favorite professor at St. John's

Excellent professor. If you're a Poly-Sci major, you have to take him at least once. Honestly the best decision. You should take part in class discussions/answer his questions. 2 papers, a midterm and a final. I loved this class.

The dealio is dis - go to class, every once in a while ask prof ? or make comment, turn in paper with lots of works cited page (only thing he reads) and you'll get an A. Prof is interesting but stories of wheres hes been get old. Just pretend interest and ull get an A.
