Comment:
Dont take this professor, unless you're ready to retake it. He often goes off topic and his charts and graphs don't make sense to the lesson. He doesn't explain the concpets clearly, so you leave without an understanding of the class. I will not be taking this professor again.

if you can't learn by simply reading, don't take his class. he talks more history than ECO, he gave my class the wrong test & we had to wait half an hour to start class so he can get the right tests.

I'm in his class right now and he's talking about the unemployment, but he always gets off topic. he doesn't go over many things and his graphs are very confusing. I would NOT recommend this teacher because he babbles a lot. You won't understand it if your not paying attention 100%. I definitely won't pass.

He is a Harvard grad professor. He gives only two grades, a mid term and a final. Those two grades are 50 questions mult choice each and have 5 extra credit questions based on articles. Everyone in the class did so poorly that he gave 10 points to everyone's grade. Attendance is not mandatory but recommended. I would not recommend this professor.

Probably the worst teacher at Kean. He rambles on about things that are not important and when its time for a test he reviews but its not whats on the test! He only gives two tests a midterm and a final no extra credit. I highly recommend not taking him unless you want to fail.

This professor is by far the worst i have had so far. He babbles on in class about irrelevant things that have nothing to do with what he is teaching. However when he is talking about actual economics he will make no sense. he'll ask a question and never even answer it. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS

I had Dr Kempey for my money in banking class which was my class major and that was my last semester before graduation, i tried so hard to get a B- on that class. Attendance is not mandatory,if anybody intends to take him be sure you will come to class, you read the book and pay close attention to what he has to say cause he is not easy at all.

So this was the last class standing between me and graduation. I took it this past summer and he's not a bad guy. Tests weren't that bad. No attendance mandatory and no work. He talks mainly about his own life. My studying consisted of reading my notes an hour before class. Compared to other classes I've had, this was relatively easy.

Dr. Kempey is not the best professor by far. I took it during my winter break and although it wasn't a good experience taking class with him I got a B which it was pretty good considering his method. ONLY midterm, final and a curve of 10 points. His text are not easy and the notes he gives aren't in the test. Boring class. Consider other options!!

Do not take this class! He is a horrible professor. Focuses to much on his personal life and has the nerve to give u a test he taught nothing on. A serious waste of time and a killer of your GPA! He needs to be fired ASAP!!!

If you want to learn, do not take this professor. He drones on and on about his personal life. Attendance is not mandatory, which I suppose is a plus in this case since there's not much point in attending this class. He's a full on Keynesian, so expect to hear rants on how Libertarians are nuts. I don't know how this guy is still employed.

For anyone who is trying to be sincere and say that this professor is ok, IS LYING!!!! He is terrible and NO his tests are not based on notes, they are on a read the entire book basis. He should be fired and from what I've heard around campus is that a student is actually suing him....SO THERE YOU GO...DON'T TAKE HIM!!!!

I don't really understand why the other reviews are so negative. Kempey's teaching style is mostly lectures with some notes and barely any textbook readings. He never takes attendance, or gives homework (except for the occasional chapter in the book) but his exams are based on class notes. He can be boring, but overall isn't a bad teacher.

I ignored all these comments and decided to take him anyway. Big mistake, they were all correct. Hes knowledgeable about the stuff he's teaching but is difficult to follow becuase he is very monotone and always goes off topic. Also, syllabus said 5 chapters for exam#1 but really it was 9 chapters. If I could do it again, I wouldnt. Hope I pass.

WORST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD. DRONES ON AND ON ALL CLASS ABOUT ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH ECONOMICS. I KNOW MORE ABOUT HIS STUPID FAMILY AND ABOUT HOW SOMEONE IS SUING HIM THAN ABOUT ECO LOL. TAKE PROFESSOR YOUNG FOR ECO IF YOU WANT TO SAVE YOURSELF!!!!

No attendance required. No essays no homework. Only exams. He adds up all your exam grads then he subtracts half and that's your base grade then he curves your final Grade based on the class average. Our class had over a 15 point final grade curve

Not as bad as the prior comments make him out to be. He rambles on and goes on a million opinionated tangents, but only tests you on whatever economics he actually teaches. Has revealing reviews for the only 2 exams (midterm and final) which help immensely. Just reread your notes twice before tests and you'll be okay. He also curves generously.
