Take his class! At first I hated it but in the end I was so thankful to have him! You have 10 hws that are very repetitive and 4 papers. You really will become a better writer and grading couldn't be clearer. You know exactly what you need to do to get an A. Friendly and a little cooky but a great professor. Easy A and worth it :)

Excellent teacher. You will be a better writer because of it! Since you're paying for the class... really, you should show up. You win in the end!

He is intimidating for the first few weeks and you may end up hating him for it, but in the end he is an exceptional teacher who clearly explains the material. I feel that I have a greater grasp on the material because of it. Although he group assignments suck and are tedious.

Professor Killgallon is a really nice guy. His class is extremely boring, and attendance is mandatory. He sets up lots of easy to follow guidelines for assignments, so everything's easy! Oh and he's a bit of a pushover too. Just show up to class & do all the assignments, and you'll do great!

Killgallon was great. Do your assignments on time, come to class on time and follow the grading goals and you've got an A! Half our class got an A. And he genuinely listens if you have a problem. He only gets upset when students are rude or try to be smart.

His homework/group assignments are really boring. BUT they should help you do well on your essays because really, that's all you'll be graded on. Writing tools... underline for absolutes, italicize for appositives, blah blah... but i think his humor is dorky which makes me chuckle and he is sympathetic if he likes you. just show him respect.

Very Easy grader, very clear about what he wants. Also very boring. I was on Facebook most of class and got an A. In love with Elvis and JFK. the JFK paper at the end is a pain.. 15 pages... keep that in mind. Consider other teacher, i heard he's easier.

He is very intimidating and the first week i wanted to cry, but i have learned a lot from him since i sucked it up and stuck with the class. I don't like him as a person, but as a prof. he is okay. The books he wrote and the homework he assigned are annoying but if u stick with it and try hard you'll do well.

i took english 100a which has more emphasis on grammar i think but the material that we learned daily was RIDICULOUSLY easy. The papers were graded HARD but you get 3 peers to review it in class so there is no excuse to lose too many points. The final paper was time consuming- 20 pages turned in with notes, biblio, and a ton of other stuff.

A tad confusing, a little quirky but overall reasonable. Homework is tedious but easy. And all you have to do to get a good grade in his class is make sure your papers have all the grading goals in them (For crying out loud he even lists them for you!!!!!)

Comment:
His grading is arbitrary at best, he is down right insulting at times. Doesn't use half of the materials he requires, can't use his computer, constantly pushes late, answers questions by rephrasing the question leading to just more confusion. The amount of work he assigns is extremely time intensive yet little education value.

Oh lord! This guy is still teaching? I had him years ago and I almost had a breakdown from him. He grades extremely hard. I got an F on my first paper because "he didnt like it". Hes short tempered and egotistical. He teaches his class using only his book, which by the way contains information that no other professors or colleges teach. AVOID!!!

Too much work for a 100 level class. Last semester, the class was out of 5,700 points. No exams, but 4 major papers. Stupid rules like cirlce semicolons and colons on papers. Home work is easy but there is A LOT of it. He also has a short temper. 1/2 of the class points comes from the final paper you write which is between 15-20 pages. Its on JFK.

Avoid this guy. He gives out insane amounts of homework - not hard but extremely tedious (50 sentences using appositives, past participles etc.) His essays are quite stupid too - he focuses more on the grammar rather than a well written thoughtful essay. You go down a letter grade by forgetting commas and semicolons and such. AVOID THIS TEACHER!

This class should have been called the JFK assassination 101. One time i got an 80% on a paper for not circling my semi-colons. Grading system = FAIL.
