He is a very kind person. I like him. I am not sure if I am willing or able to teach undergraduate Physics around his age (80) this requires a lot of passion and patience! Passion and patience are all we need...

The professor is a nice, friendly man, but he is difficult to follow and learn from at the board. He does not work out problems sufficiently and makes many mistakes, or becomes unsure while writing. Test difficulty is reasonable but lectures do not prepare you. I would have been better not going to lecture and using the time to work on problems.

Dr. Lee is an old school teacher. He expects you to read the textbook before lecture in order to have a conversation in class. The sooner you realize that the sooner you'll enjoy his class. Tests are variations of the homework, either with compounded ideas or more steps. There are no surprises at all and he gives a good amount of partial credit.

I cannot believe this man is still teaching at 88-years-old. He is probably the most incoherent and useless professor I have ever encountered. Lectures are never helpful since he typically gets confused, has bad handwriting, and can't usually collect his thoughts. I was also afraid he'd have a stroke one day in class. Avoid Dr. Lee at all costs!

Linwood Lee was a very good physics professor. I was someone who hated physics in highschool but I managed to get an A in his class. He's very helpful and his tests are incredibly simple. He maybe a bit old but it's not hard to understand him at all.

Dr. Lee is probably the nicest professor I have encountered, however his lectures are confusing. The new textbook isn't that great, making for a pretty tough time. His office hours are also the most extensive I have ever seen. He is a great guy and helps out during office hours but lecture is definitely a negative.

Professor Lee is a great guy, don't get me wrong, but his lectures are confusing. I didn't like his lectures at all, especially at 8am. You have to go to his office hours to actually understand stuff. The new textbook is terrible and his test are hard compared to the review sometimes. Make sure you go to recitation, you'll really need it.

He definitely had a prime during his teaching career - but no longer does he exist during that time period. His lectures can be confusing and it took me the first week to decipher his handwriting. His demonstrations are humorous and also somewhat helpful. His office hours aren't too bad as long as you come with specific questions. H

He was probably once a solid teacher, and to this day is a pretty nice guy, but he should not be teaching. His lectures are all over the place and even with the practice exams, you have no idea what he expects of you for the actual tests: even if you read the textbook. The class is curved a lot though so even if you fail tests, you may still pass.

Literally the worst teacher in all of Stony Brook. Can't explain one topic properly. Only I got through 125 was watching Michael van Biezens youtube videos. That didn't work out for 127 and I'd pretty much just rather take this class over again with a different professor.

Terrible teacher. You can get away with 125 but not with 127. The material in phy 127 is much more confusing and reading the textbook doesn't help much either. Yeah sure, he offers extensive office hours but he gives no clear indication of what he puts on his exams.

Makes class so confusing, and has to correct himself quite often. Textbook is mandatory for his class, and he gives out quizzes every recitation. Make sure to attend every lecture in case of clicker questions. Not looking forward to taking 126 with him next semester

He is the most unclear and confusing professor I've ever had. He teaches the entire three semester sequence, which leaves is absolutely terrible, especially if you don't learn well from him. His tests are not very similar to the practice tests and he gives obscure questions on the tests. I learned absolutely nothing from this professor.

He takes shortcuts when doing things on the board and makes many mistakes. You would be better off skipping the lectures and just using that time to read the textbook and watch physics videos.

Although attendance is mandatory, I find he just uses the textbook material in his lectures and makes the material more confusing. His tests are like the practice exams he gives out, but he might change some stuff. I believe the final grade is curved since I failed the first two midterms and still got a B+. Recitations is where you learn the most.

Prof. Lee is a kind-spirited instructor that has a genuine love for the material he teaches. However, his lectures can be confusing, so to do well, you'd have to do a lot of personal studying. ALWAYS do the homework problems, as they are very similar to the exams. Be sure to also make use of the TAs and of his office hours. Beware of clickers!

Comment:
His lectures were sometimes confusing because he gets lost quite often while teaching the material. However, he is always willing to help. He offers a lot of office hours and he also runs help sessions before each of the exams, which I found to be very helpful. Overall, he is a decent professor, just make sure you keep up with the material.
