MAJOR lack of communication, he doesn't even respond to emails, I feel like that's a trend within the Political Science departments male professors. His test was confusing at best, and he just doesn't come off as intelligent

The laziest prof I've had in university. He posted lectures the first two weeks of class and then never again. We just read the txtbook and posted thoughts on it every week. He promised study guides and never posted them after (like said "I'll post it friday" and didn't. Confusing exams and he's super passive aggressive if you email him.

Zero structure to the course. I would think this is great course if you're looking to go down the foreign policy route, otherwise the course feels more like a glorified book club. No quizes, assignments, just a single discussion board and four tests. In a non pandemic, in person course, maybe it wouldn't be as bad, but that's not the reality.

If you are looking for an elective class, DON't take it. Felt like it was a major req. There are few things that are graded, exams (4), & weekly discussion. You have to study hard for tests cause he prepares it on his own. If the courses your taking aren't easy to handle during the semester, don't take this course and make yourself desperate.

Do not take him. I had 3 semesters with him and each semester gets worse. Even though the class isn't hard, he is never present. Also, forget emailing him simple questions he will be unprofessional if it isn't to his liking. If you like learning by yourself, by all means, take his courses.

This professor was by far the worst professor Ive ever taken. Hes very passive aggressive in all of his emails and is rude when you ask him question. The tests were worded awkwardly and sometimes even hard to answer because of this.

Online class. He was impossible to reach, literally did not respond to anyone at all the whole semester. We had 4 tests, each pretty easy if you read the textbook. All we had to do was weekly postings online and the tests. If you participated in all of the posts, he brought your grade up a lot. Wouldn't take him again though.

you are graded off doing one weekly summary of each chapter in the book. and four different tests. that is all there is to it. the professor does not email or talk to students. He lives in Lybia and didn't email a single student back the entire class period. His content is set to auto post and he does not engage with the class at all.

I have taken this professor's classes in the past without any issue. Recently it seems he changed his grading criteria from multiple choice to written essay for exams. He provides no rubric and will not give feedback on how to improve. I emailed him several times asking for help and received none. Will never take again and neither should you!

He truly knows what he's teaching. He's well educated in the subject matter and is willing to teach this to you. Beware on the essay part of his tests, he's very picky on what he wants, but is VERY fair in grading. He is willing to work with you if you put in the work.

I normally would not give any professor such a bad rating, but professor El-Kikhia really deserves it. We were not given any rubric for our tests which were essays so I have no clue as to how he graded it or how I could have done better. He gave no guidelines for the essays and then graded me very low on what I believe were very solid essays.

unless you are a mind reader OR plan on continuing to email him about what he is specifically looking for, plan to not receive all points. He was not clear about much, in addition, he was negligent in keeping up with the class and does not hold himself to the same standard he holds students to. In addition, he is an ass that provides no feedback

Some people had issues with the class, but I'm sure it is because they didn't pay attention. For tests, he tells you what you should be focusing on, honestly, if someone is doing bad on the test, chances are they did not read or study. My grade has not dropped below an A the entire semester.

Took this online class and had to drop it, he sent us the syllabus with a warning signs that it would be a dream to pass... the powerpoints on BB and two books weren't enough for him, most of the questions were from somewehere else and structured in really complicated language really hard to understand the question. Will never take his class again

Dr. El-Kikhia is awesome! He is a very knowledgeable and well spoken man. He is always willing to help and you really have to try to fail his class. You can definitely learn a lot through his lectures; so attendance is a must! I took his class in the maymester and loved it!! Every Political Science major should take this course!!

The guy likes to hear himself talk. He is very very interesting and knowledgeable about the subject matter but he has no structure. He never kept any of the appointments he scheduled with me, he claims he cares for all students but this is not true- he does play favorites.
