she's a horrible prof, goes way too fast, and doesn't appeal at all to visual learners. if you don't understand the first time, you're screwed. everything she teaches is very fast paced, and doesn't break down any formulas properly and mumbles alot. you're graded heavily on 4 things, very hard to get a good mark. avoid at all costs

I took the equivalent course at U of M and retook it here to get a better mark. This course was way more work including the iclicker class participation. She's very knowledgeable but the course is very fast paced. The midterm was a lot more difficult than expected. I spent 0ver 100 hours studying for the final in order to make an A!

Due to the pandemic I took this class online. Very boring content and tough to stick through watching online. She has iclicker questions during class based off how well you know the content shes in the middle of teaching and it is worth a good portion of your final grade which can either really hurt you or possibly benefit you.

Average prof but this is a tough course. It's listed as a psych course but is more like a biology class which why it counts as a science. Tests are hard, but there is clicker questions and mini launchpad "assignments" which can help boost your mark if you do bad on tests. Only knock is she can sometimes fly through material. Textbook helped a lot.

Her lectures were sometimes engaging, however she was very quiet and went through the slides, and iClicker questions extemely quickly. The aforementioned iClicker questions were on subjects not covered in class nor in the slides, therefore, Google was your teacher for this course. Would not recommend unless absolutely necessary.

Very knowledgeable prof. shes clearly a genius in what she teaches, was just hard for me as i took my data analysis class with her and needed more time spent on formulas and examples. If youre a fast learner, shes a great prof

She does well helping in class and even gives extra credit with Launchpad, but it's one of the hardest courses I've ever taken (coming from someone who isn't great at math). Definitely read all the chapters and do the practise questions! The last exam was soo hard. Take 2102 the very next semester so you remember everything!!

Extra cost to buy iClicker + Launchpad worth 20%, but they're easy grades. 3 non-cumulative exams you have to study hard for! BEWARE, she said only Ch 8 is different b/w txbk editions, but Ch 9-15 are different too! She was quite rude when confronted but otherwise she's respectable + knowledgeable Bland and difficult class, more bio-based /:

Reads straight from a powerpoint slide too fast and doesn't realize some students can't learn that way. phrased questions on the exam completely different from how she phrases them on the review (which she doesn't post answers too). Dropped psych as my major because of this class. Don't take it with her. I've never failed a class before this one.

This class is HARD. Some of the material is interesting, but there are a lot of terms and a lot of details. This class requires a lot of effort to get a decent grade. The prof. knows her stuff, but class can be boring due to the material. There is tons of reading, but if you read the textbook thoroughly, you should be okay for tests&study iclickerq

she goes over the lecture way too fast and both in material and the way she speaks which leads to her mumbling a lot. You can go into a test feeling prepared but completely bomb. I found her questions hard to decipher which is going to screw you over considering its all multiple choice. Overall did not enjoy.

She is one of those profs that knows the material -too well-. She'll use terms in the lecture that we haven't discussed in class. The lectures and the textbook are both dry.

Somehow would leave lecture knowing less than when I walked in. Super monotone and mumbles a lot, using words that haven't been mentioned in lecture before and won't define them. Gives opportunity for more marks with iclicker and online quizzes but exams are long and you need to know a lot. Extremely biology/physics based- very tough class

She posts review questions in self assessments that are identical to the test but she doesn't tell us that so beware that average is low. Also she makes the exam harder than it should be with no curve so 70 MCQ in 1 hour (hard). She likes to post experiments of people and the principles so good luck. Perception is the hardest class ever.

Her class has been one of my least favourites I have taken thus far. Her lectures are incredibly dry and intense. You are graded on very few things, which makes it hard to get a decent grade given that her tests pretty much require you to memorize the text book. Nice lady, but the amount she expects you to know is unreasonable

You can tell she really knows what she's talking about-she does kind of fly through her lectures. I didn't find her to be overly helpful when I had questions & I rarely got replies to my e-mails. Quite a few weekly assignments online and in the lab, non-cumulative final but there is way more information on the final than the final than the midterm.

recently switched degree from four years of the core sciences to psychology and yet I still have an incredibly difficult time with this course, even though its heavily related to physics and biology. deceptive course description. she comes off sort of snobby and talks a million miles a minute. nearly impossible to get any info down

Perception 1 was waay more biology/physics based than I expected. If you're cool with that, this class is great otherwise. Online experiments graded on participation only gives you some freebie marks. Notes are posted online, good at communicating about tests, etc. Final grade based on three tests and the online experiments. Overall good prof.
